This is sort of trivial, but I've been curious for a while since I don't hear it mentioned ever. My dog has a natural mark across her muzzle that looks like an impression from a gentle leader head collar, but she has never worn one a day in her life! Trainers ask me all the time if I use one with her because of the mark, but she's always had it. Is it weird or is this just seen sometimes? Here's a profile picture that you can sort of see it in:

LOL! I've never seen it before but it does look like that. One of many reasons I don't like "gentle" leaders.

Interesting! Do any of her siblings or parents have the same mark?

It's not an impression though right? Just the way the hair is? Looks like 2 black stripes across the top.
Do you have a front view picture of her head?

She is a beauty.
It does look as though the hair is laying in a different direction - just a little
I wonder if she got caught in something as a very young puppy or if the umbilical cord was wrapped around her snout?

Thanks SitasMom... and interesting thoughts... I looked up pics of siblings in the database and don't see anything similar.

Just her own individuality coming out. LOL! She is a nice looking girl regardless of the mark. I wonder if she will pass it on if you decide to breed her. That would be interesting.
And why is this thread making us add a title on a reply? grrrr

GSDXephyr,
Yes, I can see it in the pic's. In the first head shot it does look like it's an impression. But you don't feel any impression right? So then it's got to be just the lay of the hair like you said a cowlick. When you check it out closely is the hair in that pattern in different direction or what is different about the hair there? Darker? Anyhow, it doen't affect her, just makes her more uninque. Gives more character. I remember whem my dog was younger I posted a pic and you made a comment that she looked like yours, and she did but they don't look alike anymore.
