I think there is a need to clear something up. Some questions have been asked on another but alas the moderator appears to have no appetite for the question or for knowing the answer.
The question concerns whether BAGSD/VPG judges are qualified SV judges. Mr Eric Roberts attended a seminar organised by the GSDL and given by Gunter Diegel and is therefore qualified????. Mr Tom Nye didn't and therefore isn't?????
Mr Tom Nye wrote on this other forum the following
In answer to the question asked, no I did not attend the "seminar" that Diegel gave few years ago but I did attend a WUSV judges conference in Darmstadt last summer (the only other UK judge in attendence being xxxxx xxxxxxxxxxx! I was informed their that this conference took on essentially the same format at the "courses" Diegel is running!
I have also been told that ONLY titles gained under SV judges including "external SV/non Germans" that have been approved by the SV ie American judges, Louis Vanderpoel etc (NO British Sch/VPG judge holds this title btw!) will be accepted within Germany for Koreung etc!
Indeed I'm told that the only thing the WUSV course entitles is that the SV can claim a release fee if that judge goes outside his/her country!
All of this I was told verbally & of course I'm happy to be corected if anyone can produce some form of OFFICIAL release from the SV/WUSV!
The bits in red are the main issue with potentially unsuspecting owners thinking they have followed the criteria for certain German entries, and then travelling all that way to Germany to be refused entry.
Perhaps someone can shed some light, and also whether the last line is for real????? Why doesn't Mr Nye get an official release from SV/WUSV supported his claims.
Simple questions from a simple owner.

Why do you feel the need to stir the shit on many forums for Tom Nye, who really only tries to help people within the sport . I have been within the sport many years and this politics is being perpetuated by individuals like you. Why do you feel the need to do this.
IF NOTHING GOOD TO SAY THEN SAY NOTHING
Tom is a man who gives more than he takes, it would appear you are an individual who feels the need to take
Do me and others a favour and keep this crap to oneself

I do not remain anonymous

Do you think it fine that a judge at a trial judges 2 phases, then dons the suit for the one dog doing biting and lets the aprentice finish the judging? When there is a licenced helper at the trial?
Not critisism just asking your views? (please don't start to shout at me)

First of all some FACTS:
1. SV judge Herr Amrosius Claus was booked to officiate at the event hosted by BAGSD Walsall branch.
2. Mr John Sneddon was booked to do his final apprenticeship there and should Herr Claus find his performance acceptable Mr Sneddon would be awarded the grade of "Junior Judge", whereby he would be allowed to judge only "under supervision" of an already qualified judge until it was agreed he had built up enough experience (this is BAGSD policy btw!)
3. On the evening prior to the event Herr Claus flight was cancelled by the airline and the host club were unable to source another flight for him. They therefore called me and asked me to officiate, which I was happy to do! I was also asked if Mr Sneddon could still complete his apprenticeship, again I agreed.
4. Stuart Nye entered his male GSD in VPG1 at the event some weeks prior in good faith that the judge officiating would be Herr Claus. When it became apparent that I would be the judge Mr Nye offered to withdraw his entry and the BAGSD VPG executive made the decision that his entry be accepted on the gorunds that should Mr Sneddon be accepted as a "Junior Judge" he would judge Mr Nye's VPG1 under my supervision. Mr Nye was the LAST dog to work on the day and travelled to Walsall knowing that if Mr Sneddon was unsuccessful that he would not be able to compete that day with his dog!
5. Mr Sneddon judged alongside me a total of 6 BH and 1 FH entrants, whereby I made the reccommendation to the BAGSD VPG executive that he should be accepted as a "Junior Judge".
6. Under the terms already laid out in point 4, Mr Sneddon then judged Mr Nye in his VPG1. I merely stood on the field with him and supervised.
7. The host branch asked me if I would be willing to do helper work for Mr Nye's VPG1 and again I was happy to do it. Now I must point out here that I cannot recall the number of times I have performed trials helper work for Mr Nye (yes he is my dad!) both at our own club and others - including twice at BSA NAtional Championships! I see nothing sinister in this, just as I see nothing sinister in Chris Bows having his own son as well as his club helper be selected to perform helper work at several GSDL major events he has been entered at!
8. Mr Sneddon judged Mr Nye's the FULL performance and it was HE who awarded the title and it is HIS signature in Mr Nye's scorebook.
This is a true and honest account of the event and can be evidenced and was witnessed by over 30 spectators at the the event!
As to judging:
1. I have not sat any form of WUSV "course"
2. NO British judge holds an SV "license" FACT!
3. Due to being told by serveral highly respected judges (Belgian, Dutch, German and American) that the WUSV "license" is merely a propagander exercise by the SV, I have CHOSEN not to do this "course"
3. The "clarifiaction" on the GSDL website is nothing more than "sabre rattling"! Several other WUSV member clubs (VVDH Belgium, VDH Holland) have already accepted titles awarded by me when people have presented their scorebooks at events hosted by them, it is only the GSDL who won't accept my judgement!
4. In that same "news" bulletin, the GSDL states that "non WUSV recognised judges within the sport
by diesel on 04 November 2009 - 11:11
5. GSDL members have earned titles under me and gone on to earn higher titles already without issue! Several BAGSD members have entered GSDL events and been allowed to work at the same or higher level without issue!
It is not up to me to seek any form of "clarification", I have made my choice and I will not do the WUSV course! Rather it is up to the association who holds this "license" so dear (namely the GSDL) to seek the clarification that wil assure their own members!
As I have already said this is my 1 and only response, however, ALL BAGSD members are more than welcome to contact me at any time and I will be happy to answer their questions!
