Yeah right Hamza, pull the other one it's got bells on. You forget members on this board are a lot older than yourself so putting such a silly and dumb comment like 'my brother wrote that' is just insulting our intelligence. Please go away and come back when you have grown up and learnt some decent manners, you are starting to bore me and quite a few other members now.

Jago but it is true. I do not lie. I am a musli, and part of our rules is not to tell a fib to anyone

Hi,

GSDSRULE,

Muslims consider dogs unclean, this is true but not as you understand it. Dogs are not clean in the sense that after we play with them we should clean up especially before having meals and doing prayers.Muslims do not like dogs, this is not true, almost all shepherds use dogs. Most of farm owners use guard dogs, all gov. authorities use dogs. Most of us do not have dogs inside homes, this is true as we prefer raising them outside homes.

Thanks for clearing that out for everyone Ibrahim. =) After touching or playing with a dog, we have to cleanse ourselves before we can pray. We dont consider dogs to be 'unclean'No where in our holy book does it say that we should stay away from dogs because they are dirty and unclean. All my family members keep their dogs inside the house. You probably heard that from a person that doesnt know anything about Islam or from a religious extremist. =)

Hamza666- Im sure the breeder wont kill his dogs because he is one of the best breeders in Pakistan. =)

Thanks for the support guys, it means a lot to me. I will take him to the vet tomorrow and try the hormone injection. If it doesnt descend then my Valentino was never meant to be a show dog. I will still love him no matter what. =)

Thanks a lot guys =)

Good luck, and let us know how it turns out.

I too have a pup with an undescended testicle.  I'm interested in the hormone injection, and wondering if anyone knows what the hormone is.  I'm thrilled with the personality and drive of my dog and he's turning into a good Schutzhund prospect as well as family member.

My boy is 8 months.

No to hormone injections- thats BS and dangerous to the health of the dog.  I know someone whose male had an undescended testicle.  Vet had it removed and did a vasectomy.  Awesome schutzhund dog. Dogs get enough testicle from 1 testicle.  Being neutered DOES not impact a dog's natural drives

by oso on 27 October 2009 - 01:10

ramagsd why do you say that it is dangerous? I believe that provided the correct doses are given it is quite safe, though the success rate is higher if done by 4 months. I know of at least two people who used this method with success, another who did it with a puppy whose both testicles were undescended, but in that case only one came down. None of the puppies suffered any ill effects from the injections. If I get time later I will look up an article I have and get the details of the hormone involved.

ok AristianM. That's so true about us havbing to clean our hands everytime. But what is not ture, is that they are unclean. Many of my family members, have or have had a dog in their life. One even kept one of his dogs in the house while it was a puppy. However wouldnt let the dog in one of the rooms, as that was where they chose to pray

I am not Muslim and live in America. Growing uo, with NO Muslims, EVERYONE washed their hands after playing with the dogs and before meals. It's just common sense, good hygiene and has nothing to do with religion. Many of my pet-owning friends don't have their dogs in the house and even more of my schutzhund friends never have their dogs in the house. My dogs are in the house with me. Just different strokes for different folks and, again, nothing to do with religon. Thank you both, Artisan and Hamza, for clearing up that issue so candidly and congenially. Salaam
