Hi... I heard of this board and decided to check it out...

I wondered, do you think it's possible to train (and title) all breeds of dogs in schutzhund?

Okay so these are the breeds I personally have heard of in the spot.
- German Shepherd Dog
- Rottweiler
- Belgian Malinois
- Doberman Pinscher
- American Staffordshire Terrier

But what about these breeds? Is it possible? Likely? Why or why not?
- Australian Shepherd
- Border Collie

I know Border Collies who have done Schutzhund. They have plenty of drive and even some with good fight/defense. The problem that I know of is with stick hits--their instincts tell them it's stupid to let themselves get hit. Some still handle it well, just that is the likeliest problem spot.

A Jack Russel called Murphy think thats his name is Schutzhund trained, if the dog has what it takes then any dog pedigree or cross breed is capable of being trained

I also believe a Chesapeake Bay Retriever was also titled he achieved SchHIII as well as his Show Ch title and his hunting titles. He is believed to be the most titled Chesapeake in the history of the breed. On the long bite I have heard he knocked the helper flat to the ground on many occasions. One of my friends said he was in a Leerburg training video.

I'll add the Labrador Retreiver ( we dabbled in Sch before she went on to become an accelerant detection K9) and the Beauceron... which I would love to have!

Don't forget the Belgian Turveren and the Belgian Sheepdog.  Surely someone has titled a Laeknois too.

Add to your list a South African Boerboel, Cane Corso, and don't forget the mutts - they can do it too.

SchH USA magazine also featured a German Shorthaired Pointer a few years ago.  Think it was a GSP.  It was one of those floppy eared short coated hunting dogs.  LOL

Clearly some breeds are more suited to the sport than others.  There's a reason there's only GSD's and Mali's on the podium year after year.

But for someone just dabbling for fun, a lot of breeds can participate.  Handlers just have to work harder with the "alternate" breeds.
