Just for giggles, at what age do the Strong working lines actually slow down and mature?  I only ask because I have a 5.5 yr old female, working lines, that still acts like a 1 yr old pup most of the time.  She won't/can't slow down.  LOL  Any working line people have any suggestions/thoughts on this?  Just an FYI, she is walked a mile daily, and 2-3 times a week, taken to a secluded spot to run and play for hours, and it just doesn't seem enough.

I have one that is six and still does backflips and everything she did at age 2, so with good luck in a few more years.

Walks usually aren't good enough for a working line shepherd. They need to RUN.  Just become a ball throwing machine for your girl. It helps with their stamina, and should tire them out pretty well. Mine run around our farm all day chasing eachother- and they still have energy to spare. Even after a day of working in bitework- they take a quick nap and are ready to go again!

Oh yes,  and learn to play "two hose" type games, that's the best for a quick energy burning session!  Are you working her brain a lot too,  that might help more than the long runs a couple times a week.   Challenging obedience work,  or nose games really mentally content a dog.    How about biking?   My female does a 4 mile bike ride 3-4x week and that really seems to help her stay settled.  In addition to daily training and outtings.   A mile a day really isn't much, especially at a walking pace.   Any place you can swim her?
