 hello,

there are too many stud dogs with title and i dont know which one is legit or proven producer. what is the most sought after or famous working stud right now? please, no showline.

by PCW on 06 June 2010 - 23:06

That's kind of a loaded question. Some might do well in trials and not so good with producing and others are great producers but don't have any championship podiums. Also remember, good producing females are just as important. It also depends on what you want to do with the dog, SCH, Personal Protection, SAR, Police work etc.... My choices come from the SCH world because you mentioned no show lines. You should also research Judges Critiques, look for comments like "very hard, very full and calm grip" "clear head" "use for breeding" "lifetime in Körklasse first" "excellent temperamental nature" "high speed in the attack phase" "periods of stress, appears unfazed and courageous". Look at their parents, grandparents, GGP. There are many great dogs, take your time, do your research!!!

Not in any particular order, I would say :

Javir vom Talka Marda
Bosco von der Hagenmühle
Erri z Blatenskeho zamku CS
Eric vom Sportpark
Hoss aus der Zigeunerkuhle

Good luck,
pcw

PCW, why is Eric Sportpark included in your list. He is not a good working  line stud.

ADI

Why do you say that Eric Sportpark is not a good working line dog? He has been to the WUSV several times. Is it because he is a monorchid?
Just curious why you would say that?? Not trying to start a big debate..... just curious why.
THANKS

A dog who has one testicle that does not descend upon maturity or a dog that has one testicle retained within the abdominal cavity;

Adi Ibrahimbegovic, If that is true about Eric vom Sportpark, you are correct, he would not be a Candidate for a working stud.

This is a very interesting question,   PCW has given you a very good answer.  I'd also look at Ozzie Barnero and I believe that there is a Javir brother also in the US.

You might also want to be a little more abundant on your querry.  Do you have a female to breed to and are looking for a stud, or are you just looking to buy a pup to compete with.  Are you looking to get a male or female(some studs are known to produce better dogs in one gender than another)?  Is this to be a sport dog, a working dog or do you envision breeding sometime in the future?  These might help to whittle down the number of options that should produce a better fit for you.

Monorchid is a dog having only one descended testicle.  Hypothetically, such dogs should be neutered and not bred, and dogs (male or female) producing this defect in their offspring should also be removed from any breeding program.

Hmmm. To you guys who are asking that question. Eric Sportpark has never had a litter in his life, and he never will.

He only has one testicle dropped, therefore he is not a working line stud, that he asked in the original question.

Of course he is a great dog.
