Does anyone know what the puppy sale laws are in North Carolina??  Do the laws apply where the dog was purchased or where the dog lives currently??

I am looking for mis-representation laws.  I was told the pup I purchased had current utd shots/rabies and when I got there to pick her after driving 5 hours there was no documentation on shots, wormings, or rabies.  She is 10 months old!!  There is more to this story as far as mis-representation but I am probably  just going to contact an attorney.  Thanks for your help...

I just got home from taking her to the vet...  not happy...

she is 10 1/2 months old and weighs 35.5 lbs, she has sarcoptic mange, two ear infections, a fever, and the vet did a complete  work up on her blood and we are awaiting the results, heartworm was negative...  My vet rated her from a scale of 1-10, 10 being the best , he rated her health and body condition a 1...  As soon as I get the results from her blood tests we will know what else is wrong with her, I got her treatments for ears and mange, now have to treat my 4 other shepherds...  The vet said she is very underweight and undersized for her age, and that it is possible her growth is stunted as well...  The breeder has no proof, she has never been to the vet and he admitted to no rabies.  I am pursuing him for a full refund plus treatment costs...  At this point I think he could get charged with animal neglect!!  I am awaiting the results of her bloodwork and the breeder's response so I can let my attorney know which direction to go...  People like this disgust me, are there any decent people left in the world???  Aggrivated.....

Sorry to hear about the poor puppy.  What was the breeders reason for not giving the shots and the condition of the pup when you picked it up ?  Its so sad to hear these stories of puppy's that are in these conditions when the buyer gets the puppy.  You want to say dont take possession of the pup, but then your heart wont allow you to turn your back to the poor pup and leave its fate up to the irresponsible breeder.

We had discussed her and I received pics of her via email, she looked awesome in the pics and we talked for about a month over her, I finally sent the deposit, thinking that he was a great person and loved their dogs, I drove 5 hours to get her and she was nothing like he said, she was small, shy, timid, scars on her ears from the mama dog dominating her all the time and unhealthy.  I knew it would be an argument to get the deposit back so I took the pup thinking I would have more proof than just his word against mine, not to mention I felt so sorry for her.  So at least I got the dog and the vets statements, and now I can move forward, her white blood cell count was elevated due to the mange and ear infections...  everything else checked out ok...  At least this stuff is fixable...  but my wallet is not, I paid $1000 for this pup, my vet bill today was almost $300, I was supposed to get a show/breeding quality female, with nice bone substance, a great temperament, that was current on all shots...  he claimed he never wrote down the shot records, and that she was due for heartworm now... Like I believe he gave her heartworm meds...  Now what do I do, I am entitled to my money back, but I don't want her to go back there!!!  ugh...  what a mess...

Sorry for your wallet, but I hope you keep the poor little bugger. Maybe she'll grow into herself yet, once she's happy and properly taken care of. Maybe she'll turn into your best dog ever.

I got two GDS's and there are great. Perfect ages about one year apart and abt the puppy sales in FLA. they have to be 9 weeks wich i think is a good age to still be with the momma due to the last 4 weeks they learn alot on who they are as a puppy................

i got my makle from GA and he was 5 weeks old and full of spunk and it took him forever to house break... when the female took two weeks and she was fully house broke... I WAS LUCKY WITH HER :)
