Food for thought; I expect to hear different opinions on this matter.

Regardless of working lines: East/West Germany, Czech/Slovak, Belgium etc. Who in your opinion is consistently the best producing male and female of strong drives and temperament whether the dog is alive or in the case of the male through frozen semen?

Let's take in consideration: hips and elbows,  skin, coat and teeth problems,  bone structure and pigmentation and of course drive and temperament.

More and more I see how the working gene pool of honest working dog's is disappearing right before our very eyes. I see some beautiful looking dog's out there, but is this enough to deter someone from an actual threat? I guess this depends on how the owner develops his or her dog. I'm just seeing to many examples of how our working dog's are treated like human beings. No one says you can't love your dog, it's just that they are not humans, they are dog's and in regards to a working dog this type of dog is educated and trained differently.

I'm wondering if I eliminated most of our current dog's.

I like Fero I know some people don't. But best producer when talking conistancy I seen and had puppies from would be Steve Simpkins Lion, that dog keeps on outproducing him self, seeing a lot of his progeany this is the only one I can trully speak, I like the combination of his Male Lion with Nicki, and I think the new female Cona will bring even more to the table. Sorry if someone won't agree with me but I don't like to speak about something that I didn't experience first hand or own progeany from. Now what I always like to see in dogs Pedegree is Tom z PS, I like what Fero brings to the table, so far had few dog with fero in them and few line breed on him and alawys was happy with the dogs. I am sure other people will have different option/sugestions. Thanks for bringing this up hope tho hear from other people as well.

sometimes it does well to sit back and wait a bit to see which lines work best with any given male.  i was not a fero fan back when everyone was breeding to him, but i adopted a "wait and see" attitude  currently, i have four dogs with fero in the 4th generation.  i decided that i liked what troll produced and went that way.  the dog that i am currently watching and waiting on is zender.  i see some admirable traits, but personally i don't  like the dog.  i am waiting to see which of his sons and daughters carry his good traits but also those ;of their mothers.  i am absolutely certain that one of his sons or daughters is going to be a kick-ass producer.....so i'm waiting.  that is how that game works.  the right combinations produce success.  no stud or bitch can carry the entire responsibility on their own.

agree with troll vh malinda,  look at the number of progeny he has produced who have made world teams.   granted its only one aspect, but as far as passing on working ability,  gotta put him at the top of the list.

I like Cordon An Sat as well.  My current male is line bred on him, 2 - 4, he is a fantastic working dog,  Dante Traho was a Cordon An Sat son, also excellent.  You don't see a whole lot of Cordon An Sat but he produced good hard working dogs.
