cphudson

by cphudson on 04 January 2010 - 18:01

Hi, I love both dogs, but want to find more information on the type of dogs they each tend to produce.
I've seen photo's of their offspring, but I don't have fist hand knowledge.
Can someone tell me what qualities & faults they've produced? Are their certain qualities that seem to stay true even through their 2nd to 3rd generation? What about the offspring's health?

Thanks for any info you can provide.

Cphudson I dont knwo much about Cak Pisecna so I can't tell you anything first hand.  But my younger brother owns a Norbo son and this dog has outstanding drives.  Very protective of his home and lights up on the field.  Great grips and strong as hell too.

One of my biggest regrets is not getting a puppy out of Norbo when he was still alive.

I hear there is frozen semen for Norbo.  I think he's such a great dog I might look out for that frozen litter when it happens.  My only hesitation on a frozen litter, is I hav'nt done enough research on how well AI litters do healthwise in the long term.

So we will see what happens.  What litters are you looking at?

I had a Cak son, and met/knew a  few others.  I've not met any 2nd or 3rd generation, except a brief view of a 8 week litter of grandprogeny of both Norbo and Cak, and again when two of them were a few months older.  Brian knows better details.

I have a Norbo daughter that is 5 years old. She has a ton of drive and can be hard to live with at times. She learns and listens great. She has very good aggression and turns on at the drop of a hat. Big, full, hard and calm bite. For a dog her size she hits extremely hard and fast. She is a blast to work. She is a Xero granddaughter was well. I have video of her working if you would like to see it I can PM the links to you.

I also knew a Norbo granddaughter who is probably the best female I have ever seen. Built like a male and a very hard female. Her bites were incredible!!! She was out of a Xero / Trixa Ben Ju breeding.

I bred my Norbo daughter to a Cak son who is a nice dog. He is a little more defensive than some like but his aggression is fantastic and he turns on and off very nice in protection. He is not a sport dog for sure and takes things very seriously. He likes the ball but does not have a ton of play drive. I have video of this dog when he was young but nothing recent.

The litter has turned out very well so far I would say. They are just over a year so time will tell. I had the male I kept prelimed at a year as I sold him to a police dog trainer and his hips looked great. Nobody else has done hips yet so not sure about the rest of the pups. I would say the litter has a whole got a good combination of both parents with some leaning a little more towards one parent or the other.

I don't know if any of that helped you or not. As far as faults are concerned I would talk to Prager (Hans) as he has probably seen more progeny and grand progeny then any one else. I can only tell you faults of my dog and I'm not sure if it would be a fault on Norbo or not: she is a little bug eyed and short in the croup. A judge told me once she could be further reaching in the front as well. I will say though that she is one tough ass little female and is fast as hell.

Norbo typical example of the original  GSD. DOB: October 29th, 1995. Handler resilient super hard , never give up. Sociable but not submisive. High prey, retireve and defense and
Improves : Hips, nerves, stamina, structure, pigment and health.
Negatives: Linebreding on Titus produces monorchdism.
Probably best dog ever in  these lines.
