He was not just "representin' GSds in this year's French Ring championships - he mopped the floor with all those Mali dogs and he truly is the best GSD in French Ring currently inthe world.

An awesome dog that I have been following for quite a while. These decoys are without a doubt the best in the world, no question.

More links at the page posted ofUlko's work at this year FR3 Ring championships.

Ulko des Guerriers du Crépuscule -  a living legend already!

Though I rather look at the video at its normal speed,I think it was awesome!
Interesting to see that it is the product of a half brother/sister breeding!!

Okay, me not being familiar with French Ring left me with questions as to what some of the exercises were. Why does the dog come up in between the helpers legs to guard?
Nice looking dog with good solid training and on off switch.

Looks like another good dog that won't get any breedings.

Now, that we have videos at "normal speed", I hope you can see why I think this dog is the bomb.

I don't think I have ever seen a world class decoy actualy pets a dog after the object guard exercise, essentialy saying: Ok,dog, you beat me fair and square, I cannot take that basket from you no matter what.

Everytime I see Ulko ON PURPOSE put his rear leg inside the basket, instead like most other dogs just hovering nearby it, I smile.

To the poster who asked about, what's with the dog between the legs walking with the decoy... The dog is supposed NOT to let the guy get away from him no matter what, kind of like guarding and remotely similar to Sch "transport". The task of the decoy is to try to get away from the dog, the more distance he gains the more points the dog loses. So, as soon as the guy tries to get away and run away, the dog tags him.

Of course, I also like the vertical palisade in French Ring, it was present in Schutzhund too, but removed years ago.

A lot of the stuff seen in these videos is way cooland has been in Schutzhund a while back, object guard included.

I think Ulko was way cool in backwards heel with the helper following the dog/handler team and he was flawless in aborting the full attack JUSt when he was about tosink the teeth in that suit, when the whistle blew and aborted.

French Ring was dominated by GSD's until the 50's when anti German sentiment caused the the wars caused the interest in the Malinois, which was rarely used.

Great links, thanks
