I HAVE RECENTLY LOOKED AT A LINE OF GSD'S CALLED DDR LINE.
I find them quite interesting, and i would like to find out more about them.

Firstly how good are they at working & shutschund.

Secondly how good is their conformation style? Can they be shown or not?

Thirdly what is their temperament & health like.

Fourthly would it be a good idea, trying to cross DDR line, to German showline, through many generations, to try and eventually get a german shepherd which can be shown, and be quite good at it, but also have strong nerves & working ability?

And lastly can anyone post some links on here with some DR dogs, lines and info. Also with your own info

www.ddrcentral.com is a good resource. I have a DDR line male and have to say he is SUPER. I would not say he is for high level sport, but he has excellent gripping behavior, his tracking is phenomenal, and he is exceptionally social. He is aloof to a degree, loves my kids to their utter annoyance, but is very protective of me and the kids. I am no expert on the lines thus far. These are my observations of my dog. Every dog is different as well as the lines, just as in WG and showlines.

Jade, my male is from Connie Krebs. She has phenomenal dogs, and I am most pleased with the male that I have! He is doing very well right now with his progression in his schutzhund training, and he is currently training in cadaver as well.
He is showing excellent drives that are typical with his heritage! I couldn't be happier with him!

I have a DDR male. Big head, strong bone, no cow hocks or roached backs with these dogs and 100% super, balanced temperament.  I have bred 3/4 workline GSD with 1/4 showline with very good results for work, showing and best of all, as super companions.

Here you go Hamza, lots of information on here and there’s a forum too with posts for you to read.

www.ddrlegends.com

On another thread, you were advised about Malcolm Willis’ books, I’d second that, I have one right here that I’m reading again for the second time. The German Shepherd Dog - it’s history, development and genetics.  Breeding is very complex, there are no shortcuts.
