? 2012 GSDFest ??? - Page 1

How about it?  ideas please lots of heads beter than one.  2012 is going to be a rough year K.C. wise by the sound of things - lets make it memorable for the GSD. 
My ideas?

Spectacular Shows  -  i.e. landesgruppen style

Possibly split into areas - one per month or whatever, clubs putting their hands in their pockets and getting together to make it well worth the exhibitors entry - so that possibly three clubs put on one show with style....

Good atmosphere where the exhibitor is looked after totally as priority

Stalls  -  good venues    (money would be there hopefully)     good eats -

Healthy competition between the area shows to better the others   ... even a vote at the end of the year and poss a trophy for that area to be kept for the year.

culminating in the British Seiger ..............

Kennel Club ? 
CC`s ?

might even be more fun getting our own accolades.   Needs a lot of planning, but hey, we have got time, we are the people that have done so much for our GSD`s and promoted such health issues in a pro active way, why should we lie down and die cos we arent getting CC`s for a year.  

might be a success and turn into an every year thing, even when we get our CC`s back. - then we would have to decide...."Landesgruppen or CC this week-end " -  what a lovely thought.

I'm for it Mo.  I am hoping to speak to a few people up here about organising something along these lines, not licensed by the kennel club for next year if possible, then at least we would be able to gauge peoples interest or lack of.  However, to make this work, I will be out with the begging bowl to everyone to pay for it lol  Very much in the idea only stage but hopefully we can push it into reality!!  We will see....

 It is important that we use 2010 and 2011 to organise and hold and support "SPECTACULAR" REGIONAL GSD EVENTS. 
These can take possibly TWO forms:
1) Under the WUSV 'umbrella' as "Regional" (Landesgruppen) GSD Events 
2) Under the KC 'umbrella' as "Spectacular" Open GSD Events - similar to this years "Tony Howson Memorial Show"

Those GSD Clubs without CC's in 2010 & 2011 could be especially interested in "hosting" such a "GSD EVENT"

The two WUSV Clubs - BAGSD & GSDL should hold TWO of the "REGIONAL" (Landesgruppen) GSD Events during the next two years, and then they can 'select' from INTERESTED CLUBS, those who can 'host' similar events in 2012. And also decide how many would be held in 2012 and the regional distribution and the calendar distribution. This work needs to be completed by the end of 2010 at the latest.

I know of a good venue & a great butty van tried & tested!!!!   As we should have the first Champ show of the dreaded 2012 these would be in use then.    In the mean time will speak to others within this area and see what can be agreed be all.  Good idea and worth a coat of thinking about.  Time will tell.....

Great idea Mo, David you could organise a vote on this because as with everything else without a vote this idea will fall by the wayside but with a vote we can push the BC/ partnership into accepting this and making sure we all have something to look forward to in 2012 As a breed we all need to pull together and be part of the solution or we can stay fragmented and be part of the problem. To get regional shows once a month with honest judges judging the dogs and not the faces would be a great boost to our breed and i am sure would bring back a lot of people who at present have stopped showing it is up to each and everyone of us to get this breed back to where it should be and if we all pull one way then i see no reason why we cant do this.
