"League Cambridge Branch Spectacular Show" he gave best male and B.O.B to the young vgrey from the minor puppy class. The following day during his talk i asked him fromthe floor durinh question time "had he changed his mind about giving top awards to puppies" i reminded of my question and his answer at his lecture a few years earlier. He gave no explanation he just said he liked the puppy. Billy Thomas female was\awarded the R.C.C at the 2 day in 2006bfollowed by a cc from puppy by Dave Watkins in Scotland.If our home bred judges gave out top awards to puppies iam sure heads would roll.But the S.V guys seem to do it without much comment.There are plenty of folk with great knowledge of our breed without medals and S.V after their name they just dont get any recognition when the sv guys come over here to judge bearing in mind that they cant give EX or V until a\animal is 2yrs old and at best a puppy is very promising are these guys told they can award the cc to any of their winners?on the kcs decision to withold ccs for 2012 until judges stop putting up unsound animals& poor top lines and desist from double handling firstly it smacks of blackmail unsoundness is a question of degree and will be viewed differently from judge to judge as has been seen lately with one top winner "top lines"any animal with middle back higher than wither will not gait correctly &should not be amongst the winners anyway.As to double handling the noise gives a bit of atmosphere to the show. In stance attraction can make the animal keep alert but during the gaiting phase i think it does mor harm than good with all the pulling and digging in but the KC will be hard pushed to stop it. Finaly my thanks to Dennis Vessey for sending me a great dvd of the 2day 20002 3discs covering all the show great watch. some very interesting placings and results especiaily when taking the gait into consideration!!
