Police officer looking for pet male GSD - Page 1

My father is friends with a police officer whose elderly male GSD recently passed away.  The officer is looking for a healthy large adult male GSD with good temperament.  The dog will not be a police K9, just a companion dog.  The officer does have another dog, an older female who is missing her friend.  So the new male must be good with other dogs, and good with children, strangers, etc.   The dog must also be housebroken, well behaved in the house and highly prefer that he has obedience training. 
The officer has contacted local rescues but has not had luck finding a new friend yet, however a rescued dog that fits the above discription will be welcomed.
