are these german shepherds? the look of digust around the ring said it all, one lady refusing to have her dog judged, a member of the public asking if this was a freak show,
no this is the english square back shepherd and cross breed section, u've got to dispair for the breed,
anyway looking on the bright side was thinking of starting a new breed, the english akita(japanese) as i dont know anything about german shepherds anymore

The KC breed standard clearly states the following:-
Temperament
Steady of nerve, loyal, self-assured, courageous and tractable. Never nervous, over-aggressive or shy.
I can assure you all, that there were many winners today which were extremely nervous, hind legs shaking as they attempted to be stood. Still these dogs whom were not steady of nerve were placed 1st! Shocking.
The judge seemed more interested in the coat than anything else.
Oh and the most laughable thing was the judge was "double handling" , the one major thing the KC is against in our breed (double handling/outside attraction) and the judge was doing it inside the ring trying to get the dogs ears up!!!!!
Joke, the KC really need to sort themselves out, these people should no longer be allowed to judge as clearly she did not have a clue what she was looking for in a German Shepherd!
and yes I was entered and no I didn't show my dog, I chose not to on this occassion.

Hi Mandy, the double handling was great. The so called judge picking up leafs and waving them at the dogs to get there ears up (priceless) .we withdrew our bitch as well.I took my parents to the show as they wanted to see real gsds.Even my mother was amazed at what was going on,she asked at the start if the long dogs had something the matter with them. This from someone that does not know the breed,THAT SAY'S IT ALL FOR ME.
