is a AD ( endurance test ) required now before going for SchH1?

No, it is required for a breed survey and KKL but not Sch1.  The AD is not required for any SchH titles, the BH is required before going for the one.

Thank you so much that is exactly the way I understood it, just thought perhaps there was a rule change that we are not aware of been out of it for a while

Weissblau,
You are welcome.  There have been several rule changes in the past couple of years.  Some of the SchH1 rules have changed.  I don't know how long you've been away but I would strongly recommend getting a new rule book and brush up on the new rules.

Welcome back,

Jim

As she approaches her Golden Years, Shelley thinks there ought to be a program for AD's much like that of Frequent Flier Clubs.
Perhaps evey 4th one "free?"

Hello,

A question for the more experienced:

While surfing some breeders web pages, Some have listed their females and/or males as being "KKL 1" and also having SCH titles, but absent was the listing of the AD.

As mentioned by a poster on this thread, an AD is a requirement for a breed survey to be conducted, so are these breeders just "forgetting" to list that their stud/bitch earned their AD or could it be that some breeders list their animals having a "KKL 1" and it isn't really the case ??

Also, is it considered offensive for a potential client to ask a breeder to provide proof of the documentation  (SCH titles, KKL-1 , etc) prior to putting a deposit down on a puppy ?

just curious.

thank you in advance.

Ask all the questions you want to so long as it is from the breeder direct and not second hand way of getting them, That way i do not see any breeder not compliing with your wishes, I certainly ask and i do it in a proper way, Should you not get the answers providing they are reasonable then walk away and shop around a little more
But when you say Proof in which way do you mean, you will not get a copy of the Dogs score books thats for sure,

Here is how I would ask the question;

When a dog is SchH3, the BH is not listed in the dog's title.  The BH is assumed when a dog is SchH3.  Is the same true of the AD when a dog has achieved KKL1?

Well here is my take on it, but i may well be wrong as i have never bred dogs in 60 years of keeping them the experts in this field will be sure to put me right
An AD is there for the reason of finding out how sound a Dog is for breeding values and therefore it must pass its AD test before it can get its KKL1 or 11. should a dog fail the AD then there is no way it can get KKL1 or 11
Young Goran passed his AD but not for the above reason it was there to pass so we went and took it and he had no problem with it
