Im having trouble trying to identify if this girl will be a long coat or more of a plush stock coat. Her breeder believes she will be a little plush stock coat. Opinions would be great!

Here she is at 6 weeks. This is the best pic of her feet I have:

Okay, time of a tutorial. :-) Molly and Robin, you guys are the authorities on this, as far as I am concerned. If you say "coat," I have no doubt it is a coat. ¶ "Usually" I am right there with you on these photos. This time, I simply didn't see anything (mostly because I can't see the front of the ears). So, please help us out: what tells you LC in those photos?

well, first a disclaimed that I've been "fooled before" with the show-lines - they can have "plushy" baby coats and end up being normal "plush" - working lines are much clearer - they are normally either stock or coat - nothing much in between.

But I still think this pup is a coatie.  For several reasons.  First picture - she looks overall "fluffy" including hair sticking up from her ears that is slightly wavy or curly.  Looking at her face in that first picture, you see hair already parting along the top of her muzzle, and then going down either side of her muzzle, sort of like a yorkie terrier would do.  Also the hair along the middle of the forehead appears short but then over the eyes again parts and falls down, creating more "yorkie" look.

Second and third pic she is showing how fluffy her legs are - and I'll assume there are more hairs sticking out from between her pads than the normal-coated pups in the litter, her legs and feet will appear "fatter" because of the fluff.  Her head in these pictures is round (because of the  hair) and the ears sort of disappear in the fluff - another sign is the "curlies" on the ears, behind the ears and around the neck area.  Also if you look closely the hair on the muzzle comes up enough to come over the eyes slightly.  Normal coated pups would have slick short hair here.

the last pic you can see more clearly the curly hair on the ears, and down the back of the neck and around the neck area.

I don't care what her coat is, I love her! She is absolutely beautiful. Such a perfect face profile.lots of space between her front lets.......and look at her color.
