Ok, simple issue but yet complicated. My male GSD wore his paw pad raw chasing around a concrete pool. Any wisedom out there?

Hi GSD Justice, this is not a flip answer but why was your dog chasing around a concrete pool and how raw is raw? Keep his pads clean and put on boots when he is out of the house on more concrete until healed. If you see any signs of swelling, discharge or being very, very lame, see a vet ASAP.

Musher's Secret. My female sliced a nickel size of her pad off. In the house no booty but outside I did put a booty on to keep clean. Musher's Secret healed it in a couple of days

Malshep/Jaxx,
Thanks. My dog was chasing around the pool after my female Schh 3 who loves to swim. The male, a puppy sort of at 18 months, chases around barking and so forth. My wife allowed it to go in spite of my instruction to stop it.
The raw section is on the larger paw pad on his left front foot. His vet said let it grow back, keep him on soft turf, and not to worry too much about infection. . . .a common issue.
Thanks

I will also suggest which my vet told me to do when this happened to my GSD, is to go out and buy that liquid glue or liquid skin and put it on the pad. You might have to repeat this every 2-3 day's but it does work and it puts a coating on the pad so that it doesn't get infected and gives it time to heal. It worked very well for my female GSD that turned her pads raw on cement too. Very easy and inexpensive to do.

Good suggestion ,, Kelley works too...
also Bag balm on feet but ave to put sock on foot for a night or so..keep in kennel and docile for three to four days....
Nu stock has a tube of sulfur, pine oil , and mineral oil that works on anything.....great on dogs, people and it drys real well as sulfur is an active drying agent....
stinks a bit but great for all animals....

I have also had very good results with liquid skin for raw paw pads and similar injuries.
