I attended the Bangor Show yesterday judged by Lester Allen of the Knockwood Kennel, was good to see so many traveling from the south of Ireland to support this show, where Lester had a good entry, and more over seen an excellent atmosphere round the ring.
This is what is need and call for more shows like it, where it was excellent to see some old friends and peers of the breed in attendance, we seen a local home breed judge the classes as he seen fairly, and was great to see everyone applauding the winning places of green star and reserve after their placings.
I personally call on all to unite and promote the local home bred judges not because it is my turn coming, but more over would help the breed in Ireland. One believes when we all see and come to the realization that what one judge promotes on the day may not be what you and i do, is the very reason we have shows, this being the same said reason we have one breed of several types.
It was the occasion when i last judge heard an exhibitor call for their bitch whom I really liked and felt well heres my best bitch, but when she was shown never preformed and left oneself with no other action to move other animals in front of her to my personal dismay.
Let the judge do what they feel and believe to be right on the day and for those who have not been in the ring, one hasto say the view from inside that ring is a totally different one from outside.
Now to finish Well Done Lester, we all had a good day, and laugh even at the the exspense of some of the foolish postings, well good see some have move on.
