I decided to go with a reputable GSD breeder and am more than happy with my choice. However, the DH is still not convinced that these pups are not true GSD's, so I would like to get a general opinion from members on this board who could better explain why they may or may not be. To me, though they appear to have GSD in them and besides the odd coloring, they just don't look purebred. But I would like the opinion of those that are more knowledgable about the features of the GSD so I can better explain to the DH.
These are pics of the pups. The dark pups down further are from the same litter. The darker pups were just advertised as sable, but they don't look at all sable to me either. I have expressed that its possible there were 2 sires to this litter.

From the same litter...

My guess ... Alaskan Malamute and maybe some White Shepherd mixed in .... Go on any Malamute breeders website and look at the puppy pictures.... same exact characteristic "eyebrows" and thick muzzle .... .... I owned a Malamute .... great dog , huge, strong as hell and comedic all in one !!!! She was always in trouble .. LOL but..... I also have had German Shepherds all my life and none of them looked like those pups.
No way that those light pups in the first pictures are PUREBRED GSD..

WTH is a reverse sable? Must be a magical sable if neither "parent" was a sable yet managed to produce it...

Tihanna, the real telltale is you are not going to get "sables" from a blue/tan bred to a white. We have a ton of people here great with color genetics that can tell you why what isn't possible, but basically, sable is a dominant gene- one of the parents (coughmalamutecough) has to be sable for the breeding to potentially produce it. Tell your hubby that breeder is full of crap.
