Breeders (any breed), would you take a HEALTHY litter of puppies, aged 0 to 2 weeks old, to the vet for routine checkup?

Molly,
If the puppies are healthy, why would anyone want to expose their puppies to things outside there environment ? Just my opinion....................

Unless there would be a reason, I never take normal healthy puppies to the vet just for a routine check up..........If I suspect a problem, than YES, to the vet we would go.....JMO

Would never take any of my pups to the vet at that age unless there was a concern.

same here, my pups only go in for emergencies, and Health certificates for shipping, even then, I keep them in my car, and they never set foot on the ground there.

plus, my luck has changed, my favorite vet who loves my guys to death has his own mobile vet clinic now, so he comes to me now for visits.
no more going to a vet office crawling with parvo and god knows what else.

Ha... now the germs can come to you (G).... well you know germs everywere ...but seriously.. that is a very nice option to have vet who still comes to your property. The livestock vet used to but he retire and the new one doesnt do doggies... makes good money doing horse AI's many of whom dont even know how to breed naturally any more and have to have surrogate mothers even... jimminee cricket hope GSDs dont keep going that route!

never would I unless the pup needed to be put down, people bring sick dogs there, so you do the math. I do my own shots and do not step foot at a vet till they go with the new owners with strict instructions on handling no floors tables, ask for gloves on handlers and not removed from room, no shots till city requires rabbies. This subject is a pet pive of mine as I find the stories my new owners tell me are so wrong and not in my pups best interest , so I warn them and tell them how to respond to aggressive vets, as well as give them a vet who I know will not push a newbie , they see you coming.
