This is Zamp's GRANDSON.
Zamp is in my file of German shepherds I like the look of. However, one of the measures of a dog's true greatness is what he produces. If this puppy is typical, NO THANK YOU.
OTOH, I know Zamp DID produce some excellent progeny, or he WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN SIEGER.
On the fourth hand, far too many showline puppies are being produced with weak, overangulated rear ends
Oh hell, why bother? Pretty soon if this fad continues, the only difference between the German butt-draggers and hock walkers and the American butt-draggers and hock walkers will be the banana back!
My female is a cross between German and American lines. She walks on her feet the way a dog should.

And now we have Sunsilver taking on Zamp...... ABSOLUTELY PRICELESS,lol.
Your ignorance is showing. You have no idea what websites I frequent or how many shows I have been to or what books I have read or who I have talked to. Just because I don't show and breed, doesn't mean I can't have an opinion on what I see.
You won't bite me? Got weak nerves?

No weak nerves here missy/sonny, I am just particular what I put in my mouth, as I have experienced food poisoning before so once again NO THANKS!!!

"Vast knowledge" doesn't seem to be helping the showing and breeding of GSD's.
All you have to do is open your mind and your eyes and the evidence is right there in front of you.
Show rings are full of badly conformed and poor moving dogs. You breeders and show people put them there,
now you can't whine when people object to what they see.
The saying "The emperor has no clothes" comes to mind.

That being said, there are a lot of people who after plunking down a substantial amount of money on a dog or bitch will breed that dog to the best pedigree they can find without researching wether or not the cross will improve upon the parents, or even to see if the offspring will replicate in type either of the parents. That is how puppies from good pedigreed parents get sold at high prices to the unsuspecting uneducated who end up with a dog that is not worth anything close to what they paid. However, the pedigree looks impressive. And yes, the proud owners pop all over the place thinking that they have a diamond, when in reality it is more like a half baked chunk of carbon. Research and detail work is what makes a good breeder better than his peers. I've known of an occasional "BYB" who take more care in the selection of their pairings than some breeding operations.
I'm a fan of the natural "stack" that any GSD gets into when alerted by his senses. BTW, although I'm a fan of the straight back old style east German shepherd, Lartus v Kirschental is a fine looking specimen
