How many working dogs did you test and title? There are tons of breeders, breeding crap dogs who use the 'every health test available' route...because they exclude what is the essence of the breed. It takes a hell of a lot more than a DNA result to determine breedworthyness.

I will pay for certifications; trial fees, training fees, judges opinions. I will not pay for the research of a for-profit organization especially when their is evidence they are ''barking up the wrong tree''!

I wasn't specifically addressing anyone, Joan. I don't know what you test our dogs for or how you use those results. In the past here I have always encouraged anyone looking for a working line to first contact you. I'm not sure what I have said or done to you lately to cause you to be so defensive (other than disagreeing with some things you have said). Once again, I never said that hemangiosarcoma should not be part of research. I assisted in more than one PM of a GSD that died as a result of that disease, it was not a fun thing.
FWIW to you I will continue to recommend your dogs to anyone who asks me about workinglines. I wouldn't do that if I felt you were not breeding the best dogs you can. Disagreeing does not negate a firiendship IMO, I hope you feel the same way.

Whatever, Student. Have at it with someone else for a change.

I second that, and blitzen that^^^^^↑ is why you will never find my dogs listed in the offa database or any other for-profit data base. The results are mine, I can use the paper they are printed on for kindling, and have the same affect on the health on the breed as if I GAVE, at MY expense, to ofa.

Dare I disagree again, Joan . I have always been proud to see my dogs on the OFA database and when I was breeding I often referred to that database when making breeding decisions. I find it very informative since I can go to a specific dog and in most cases see which tests that dog has been subjected to, the results and the same for its siblings and progeny. I used those results in my breeding program. If I were going to use one of you dogs and if you told me that dog had good hips and normal elbows, etc, of course I would believe you without asking for copies of those certificates. BTW I never looked at the OFA database to see if your dogs were certified.

Geezus, Joan,I was disagreeing with your not caring about your dog's test information being listed on the OFA site. That was all.
Did you see the thread I just posted about hemangiosarcoma? One of the groups is looking for DNA samples for their study.
