The dog looks good, definately not a fear biter. People learn how to read dogs. The helper on the other hand leaves a lot to be desired IMO.

yes ... you both make valid commentaries ... the video alone is not descriptive enough ... the dog may have had 'the right stuff' but experience and poor interaction may have already done irrepairable damage to handle a ' real life situation''.. or .. there could be something more about the dog itself[ make-up] ... hard to tell .. personally .. i would have to strip all environmental stimuli away from this dog , evaluate this and decide , where it head is at , sort to speak ... this cannot be done in just a small video clip ... my Impression ... just an impression : this dog would not make the PP dog that i particularily would want ... because in my mind ... [ without evaluating the dog , i could be wrong] , even if i could bring the dog toward real life PP work .. i am wondering now if at some point the dog would not pull through given scenario[ not what we want when the chips are down !]... I think this beacuse : when a dog is stressed to it's maixmum point.. to the point , almost that it cannot handle ... it will always revert back to it's foundation .... NOW .. look at that foundation dispalyed in the vidseo !!~ just look at it .. sportGuy and duke you have some valid outlooks !! PS .. my apologies for the very bad typing in my posts - i sustained an injury ...

Again....whats your point? I agree but what is your point? You do realize that dogs havee to be trained for real life too as well as sport?
Will not make it a better dog? No, it will not make it a better dog genetically but you don't know if that is a good dog or not. How could you?
I see sport dogs that are in seemingly perfect control during the routine but the handler can barely walk the dog back to the car after it gets off the field. Sometimes even before it gets off the field. I would almost expect a dog to run that has only been trained on the sport field.

i'm not commenting on the training, but the dog is not a fear biter by any means.
Looks like it hasn't had very good or much training. Looks like someone just comes to take it out of a kennel, some buy puts on some sleeves and he does some stuff to let him bite, without much thought to what really goes into it.
The dog could stand to lose a few pounds, but then so could I. I dont' see an insecure dog in the sense that he has poor temperment, I see an insecure dog in the sense that he's not quit sure what is expected of him.
and I do see a need for better work from the people doing the "training". There's a lot more to it, than waving your arms and letting the dog go to bite you

If it is a personal protection dog, it certainly looks like it would bite someone. Isn't that the point of PP ??
The other video with the night work would be great to actually see. LOL I saw a guy in a chair, and a dark shape coming up, but I couldn't see much else. Stupid dark non night vision cameras. : )
