Paula,
Your puppies are pretty darn cute,  the one looks like it will stay pretty dark.  Here are my sables. First picture is a Mini Rookie.  I am so pleased.  He has the same head and is just as dark as Rookie at this age.  The other two are really dark also.  I also have 3 Bi colors and 1 black.

I don't care about color as long is not pink ;) lol.....

But I will take sable (my girl is gray sable dark gray but I am still not a big fun of grays), or bi over any other color any time.

Steve, from what I can tell your female will get much darker than she is right now, it looks in the pic like it was taken when she was changing her coat this is why she apears so light at the chest. She is one good looking girl though I love the head on her.

Oh yeah not a big fun o blacks either, I think is extremly hard to find good looking black dog, the coat shows too many flaws usually in a dog, while gray sable is very good at covering it.

I heard that said before on here, what type of flaws are you referring to?  I think there are many gorgeous blacks.

We all agree Dark Sables are a nice colour to see, But it is what is underneath the skin which counts most for me.

When I started importing dogs into USA about 27+- years ago. Most people in general public never even heard of dark sable or solid black GSD.  I like dark sable for these reasons. It is the original color of the GSD and I believe comes from wolf. That little glossy spot on the tail is what convinces me of it since wolf has it too. Also degeneration first shows in the lack of pigmentation. Pink gums, washed out colors, light eyes.  Thus darker is better. In Czech the most values GSDs from the litter were the one with dark spot on the tong.
