Rik

goodwink, if I told you the mistakes I have made, you would really feel yours is just a minor set back.

You are the only one on this thread to share a first hand experience with this kennel. many appreciate that you chose to do so and in such a straight forward way.

No one skips the "novice" phase and there are none who haven't made mistakes.

Best to you and your dog,
Rik

goodwink, take Rik's advice to heart. Nearly all have made mistakes buying GSDs or trusting sellers. One is either lucky or learns by experience. Good for you for working with your dog too make it better.

Pirate - why would you want to bash somebody that came on this board to let people know of her experience.?

You are new to this board..........BACKOFF.........you should know how it feels - since people did the same to you with your video adds....................do you have something to gain?  You seem to just want to post to threads and have really nothing to say..................

Goodwink is a member of my schutzund club.............and she has had issues with her dog.........she has worked thru them and her dogs will be the better for it.................we wont make any excuses for her dog - only that Katy will excel in the future.................

I don't think Pirates Lair was bashing at all.  I, too, thought the post in question was quite contradictory - talked about having a "bad experience," yet said that 1) the dog she bought "is awesome," 2) the dog she bought "is great for me," 3) her son bought a dog from the same place and that dog "has nerves of steel," 4) the seller said they would buy the dog back if it didn't work out, 5) the dog she bought "is a good home companion," 6) the dog she bought "works for me," 7) the dog she bought is doing good in obedience training.

All that doesn't exactly sound like a bad experience.

There are some legitimate criticisms, but not these: criticizing because 1) although there were kennel runs, the entire property wasn't fenced, wait, but maybe it was....and 2) she bought from a non-Schutzhund person a dog that MAY not be able to do Schutzhund.

Yeah, sounds pretty awful, huh?

There's also an implication that this dog was not expensive ("you get what you pay for").  Was there a reason given why this particular dog didn't cost much? Did it cost less than the one "with nerves of steel"?

I agree with Rik and those who say we've all had that dog that wasn't quite what we'd hoped.  We love 'em, anyway.

Sorry Yogie - did not realize this is a Union Forum and seniority is required to point out inconsistencies, false accusations and innuendos or ask for clarification of the same.

As for the videos, as I pointed out they were not a form of advertisement. People asked for examples and I simply provided the example.

Back off? Or what.......if you have any experience training dogs you would know that rule #1 is never give a command unless your in a position to enforce it. Same thing can and should be applied with interpersonal skills.

Goodwikn had purchased a dog with Mange.....is that not an issue?.....as well as what she said was bad nerves...........I personally know the dog as well as goodwink....I dont happen to share her view point on her dog... I don't think her dog has bad nerves.............I really like her dog...............But I do know she has had a time with medical issues with her dog - Goodwink has grown to love her dog and that is why she says Katy is the dog for her..........it doesnt matter where she got the dog - time has made her fond of the dog.......

The bad experience comes with the medical issues-----not to mention the misrepresentation of the seller......

Sorry again yogie - My understanding is that personal disputes with breeders are not allowed on the forum? A dog with mange or any other medical issue being bought from a breeder may be concern to contact the local SPCA?
