Silbersee - thank you for the stats. This is info I am more looking for.
I agree top breeding and sport concentrated in Belgium. Interesting that some have info on Bomber too.
J litter TK has too much line breeding with female I am looking to match up. As do any dogs with Olex .
Is Nick/Olex the next bottleneck in the breed bringing foward the Fero bottleneck tighter?

Como v rurdam has produced a lot of dogs here also, and seems to produce pretty strong dogs mentaly, but depending on the bitch of course. A son of him,

Belgium and the Netherlands have great dogs (and even better trainers) but all go back to German lines.
So, you need to think about what it is you want? Breed to points and placements, so you can sell puppies? Or do you wish to dedicate a breeding program to a goal you have in mind? If in doubt which stud to use for your female, study dogs with similar lines, check out the breeders who consistently produce what you are striving for and see where they go to. You will find - surprise, surprise - that they often go to a lesser known dog. Why? They might like the linebreeding or even only one certain side of a pedigree which that particular dog brings with him.
I am originally from the show side, but lately have been studying a lot of these workingline dogs and I can tell you that I was told by judges and breeders on both sides, that it is very impoertant to observe who successful breeders/handlers/exhibitors breed their females to. There is a book called "Die Elite" which gives you stats on the most successful males and their progeny in the BSP etc.
To reiterate:
The most popular studs in Germany this year seem to be
- Javir with 5 to 9 studs every months (brother Jimbeam about 4)
- Bomber Wolfsheim with 4 to 8 studs a month
- Uno Stadtfeld with 4
- Olek Maineiche with 4
- Eliot Prevent with 4
- Phalko Weinbergsblick with 4
- Amigo Holzinger Au with 3
- Ajax Röhnsaler Bach with 3
- Jimm Salztalhöhe with 3
- Jucan Peroh with 3
- Baki Salztalblick with 3
- Agent Wolfsheim with 3
- Endy Karthago with 3
- Ero Fuchsgraben with 3
- Falk Wölfen with 3
- Zar Schiffslache with 3.

I think the Dogs are good on the whole, but for the size of the country, it does make them extra good, but saying that in all Countries there is only a percent of really top Dogs, I have watched this last year several hundred dogs working in Trials, and although a lot are SchH3 they have there limits on ability, and if i see a really good Dog i look to see it at another trial to compare its performances,
Then again a i am lucky in as much i can get to any trial in Belgium within 3 hours or so travelling just because the country is so small, I do think they have some good handlers, and again i am lucky to have the help of two of the best in my Province if not Belgium, some 70 years experience of this breed between them,
At the training club tonight the breeder of my Pup which will be ready to come home a week tomorrow tells me she is a little Spitfire, and be sure to expect some nips and scratches for she has already drawn blood on him, The owner of Como who is the father of the Pups Ronny van der Bergh called in the other day to look at them as well
So it looks like i am in for a lively time with Izzy

I think the list of belgium accompishments would remain the same , just different dognames
over the last years belgium trainers were hard to beat in different breeds , be it ronny , mario or even willy adraanse with bill
belgiums are eating , dinking and sleeping dogsport(and beer) since the early 1900s and are masters in problemsoulving on different dogs/breeds

And you are telling me, even if Eros and Como had gone to another handler they would have held there own, both Dad and Son have loads of talent, and according to the marks on the breeders wrist last night it looks as if 6 week old Izzy has that something in her veins,
He told me i was in for an interesting time with her, but if she turns out like her Dad and Granddad then it will be worth it, Have you seen Eros and Como working in real life
Steve
