So the dogs were confiscated and the personDV makes a call to a friend and says go get these couple nice dogs, you can breed them and I'll give you the papers. So the friend goes to the shelter and says, gimmee those two dogs, I want them and the owner says so. And the shelter says, oh, sure, here ya go, take them.
How does that work?

by SitasMom on 20 April 2014 - 13:04

Frank, is(was) Dante owned(co-owned) by a women from overseas? If so, will she ever get her dog back?

Was Dawn able to get other dogs to their rightful owners?

What of the dogs that were at Dawn's for boardng and the bitchs that had puppies?

I guess its good to hear that Dawn has/had a bit of say as to where some of her dogs ended up.

by jaggirl47 on 20 April 2014 - 15:04

Frank,

First off, there are a few severe inconsistencies in your comments.

1.  Dawn did not know you had her dogs. I am the one that found out you had Enbroh and Dante and I informed her, as I did with Dante's co-owner.

2.  The shelter has refused to return dogs to owners with proof of ownership, ie contracts, vet records, pictures, etc. Yet, you expect everyone to believe that the shelter just handed over these two dogs because Dawn wanted them to?

3.  You were aquaintances with Dawn prior to all of this happening. Yet, once you managed to get your hands on two valuable stud dogs that you knew she had you have cut all contact and ties with her.

4.  Half of Dawn's dogs were placed in the homes of breeders, supposedly adopted yet all of them placed unaltered. These breeders also happen to be friends of yours.

5.  It took me all of 2 seconds to find out that you are at shows almost weekly with Charlene Marchand, the shelter chair. Google and show results are all online you know.

6.  You do not "own" these dogs. You were given them in an extremely underhanded way and you are attempting to get their registration transferred over to you using the shelter adoption paperwork as your legal waiver to not have Dawn's signature. The co-owners of Dante are the legal owners, one of which you have refused to answer to.

7.  Pictures of Dante and Embroh were never taken while they were at the shelter. Ron Perez admitted to the media that two dogs never even went to the shelter, they went directly to "friends" of the shelter. Did those dogs happen to be Enbroh and Dante?

8.  You make claims of how you "rescued" them. If these dogs were truly rescued by you, then how do allow your moral compass to drop so low that you will do everything in your power to benefit financially off of these rescues?

by joanro on 20 April 2014 - 15:04

So is that why the raid was orchestrated...to get the two dogs into the hands of the person who conveniently happened to be available for pickup before the two dogs could even be transported to the pound with the rest of the dogs?
Rescue has become synonymous with theft.

Oh wow, if what Jaggirl posts is true, this is getting really interesting ...

I used to be such an innocent;  I thought Humane Societies existed

to look after animals in bad situations.  Sure, I knew they were capable

of error,  but if there is even one HS that acts like this one apparently

is prepared to, no wonder they have such a poor reputation in the USA !

Astounding.

Perhaps this Charlene should tell us more about this case, from her POV ?

Hundmutter,

I have stayed off of public forums and have done a great deal of work behind the scenes hunting information. I do not know Dawn personally but have reached out to her when I come across new info.

I have spoken with many owners of these dogs. I know the fights they have had and are still going through to get their dogs back. I have seen paperwork, contracts, etc., enough to know that the shelter is not what they made themselves seem like to the general public.

I used to work for the humane society in my home town. I worked in the vet room and assisted in the care and rehabilitation of many rescues and confiscations. When I heard about this case, I was originally outraged by what the news stated. Then I realized several things did not add up. Seized dogs do not get placed directly from the seizure into homes of friends. Seized dogs do not go to a police trainer to turn them into police K9's instead of going to the shelter. Seizures of this size always enlist the help of rescues to get foster homes for the court cases, except this one where the rescues were turned away. Emaciated dogs do not look as good as these dogs looked on video.

The more info I began to look into, the more dirty dealings started to come out. Dogs being adopted within a day of being taken yet they were so ill they had to remove them from Dawn. Ill dogs do not get placed like that. Then to find out many of these dogs were placed into the homes of breeders, unaltered, that all show in the AKC show ring with the shelter chair. Other dogs placed with the police that assisted in the seizure.

You guys know the dog with the severe ear infection? The one the shelter posted the picture of? That picture was taken a week after the shelter took control of the dog. A week after they removed the dog from his antibiotics and fed him food he is highly allergic to which caused the infection to become that bad. The shelter and the shelter vet ignored both Dawn and the owner when they informed the shelter that the dog gets frequent antibiotic resistant ear infections and that the dog could only eat certain foods. The shelter refused to give the dog back until they realized they made his infection so severe that they would have to spend thousands to fix their incompetence. They then gave the owner 24 hours to pick him up before putting him to sleep. The dog has now undergone proper vet treatment and is well on the road to recovery.

THIS ENTIRE THING STINKS TO "HIGH HEAVEN"...UNBELIEVABLE...

Jaggirl47, are you crazy? Or just ignorant, you have no idea what your talking about.Dawn absolutely knew Manny and frank have the dogs. She gave a list to the shelter of people that co owned dogs.Manny and Frank we're given 4 dogs Embroh, Janga, Danti, Donna.these dogs are now living better then ever. When the shelter SAVED  these dogs, Danti was weighted by there vet, a 3 year old male, his wieght 59 lbs his weight today living with Manny and Frank 82lbs, and he's not sleeping in a grate with 2 inches of dog s..t and urine.Embroh wieght 56lbs when SAVED now over 80lbs. I've seen all dogs, I know the truth, not like all you wannabes.Yvonne from the Netherlands does not own or co own Danti, never! Dawn signed over the dogs to the shelter she doesn't own any dogs any more.If you idiots look at the pics and videos you can see how bad the conditions we're for these poor dogs.If you chose to look at the pics again, don't just look at the s..t filled grates and cages look at everything , the garbage all over, the filthy walls floors, moldings, countertops, table tops EVERYTHING! There is no deffending these two.No right just wrong. If you don't know the truth keep your opinions to yourself.

Many of these dogs had no owners except Dawn, she is just trying to get the remaining dogs in the hands of people she can control and get dogs back at a later date. There not on any AKC reg, just more BS. But what really burns my ass is hearing some of you Idiots saying that the pics and videos aren't that bad.WHATTTT!!!!  How bad does it have to be before you to think these dogs should have saved. Dawn says she has videos of the dogs frolicking in the snow the day before they we're taken, does she have videos of the dogs being put back in gross filled grates and cages after Frolicking in the snow! This is the worst case of neglect in New York.  I know a few breeders that said how unfare it is for Dawn, but I also know these same wannabe  breeders keep there dogs in similar conditions.and have 20 or more dogs, enough is enough, just go away stay out of dogs, seek professional help and be thankful these dogs are now saved and living a good life. And if you want forgiveness from your fellow breeders, start by admitting how wrong you are and beg for forgiveness. Breeders have a hard enough time we don't need breeders, corection Hoarders like this in dogs.

topdog,   even given that I have always said Dawn was in the wrong,

[notwithstanding my doubts about just how long those crates had

stood uncleaned,]  I simply do not believe this was "the worst case

of neglect in New York" (City, or State).   If your statement is correct,

New York is extremely lucky not to have worse cases, is all I can say !

Unlikely.

Which does nothing to address the criticisms people have raised as to

the Law, the Humane Society, and the Show breeders involved.
