- knowing very little about what to look for in a puppy for Schutzhund,
- but if I was an experienced handler/breeder, and had bought her specifically for training purposes
- She is not your typical GSD
- I think Katy was VERY undersocialized
- I am a new handler, and she has issues.
- don't recall seeing ANY secured fenced areas on the land, but there could have been....maybe?
- we are in the beginning phases of Shutzhund training and she is doing good with obedience.
Maybe consider reading what you write before you post it, just an idea

If you are prepared to put something in writing then you should be prepared to explain it and or accept constructive criticism.
To complain about somone and then say - don't recall seeing ANY secured fenced areas on the land, but there could have been....maybe?
That my friend is bashing...IMO

I have no problem admitting the fact that I am a new handler and that I bought a pup on impulse. As I stated earlier...It is 100% my fault for not investigating my breeder. My post wasn't a bash on him either, simply a buyers beware...Someone had actually emailed me the links to this thread and mentioned that I should tell about my experiences with this breeder...if you look back, there are several posts regarding his kennel, this isn't a new topic.
Regarding my ambivilent attitude...I was trying to give the breeder the benefit of the doubt....it is what it is....I didn't see any secured fencing on the property for the dogs to run on...maybe he has property that wasn't visible.I mentioned that my son's dog has strong nerves, once again, trying to give the breeder the benefit of the doubt. I am not a mean or vindictive person...but I personally have had a bad experience with this breeder...
In regards to my dog, she does have issues...when I stated that she is not your typical GSD, I meant that she is skiddish, easily spooked, weak nerved...we are trying to work her through it. A well bred GSD should not be afraid of her own shadow!
I like my dog, I am attached to her, and I will continue to work with her as much as I can. I would never say I'm sorry that I got my dog....that's just not my style....I choose to be positive and make the best of the situation.
Thanks for your comments.....

pl, that is maybe one of the most arrogant statements I have seen made here. A novice made a mistake. So let's show our knowledge by being as rude as possible.
I think you should pay a little more attention to your own advice.

Okay....so this is my first day ever on the message board and I have learned a valuable lesson....keep my opinions to myself...I apologize to any that I have offended, but I did have a bad experience...sometimes the truth sounds ugly....

You made a mistake in your choice of breeder but are owning up to it even at the cost of giving up your sport training goal. Many, MANY buyers would not have done this.
I have a shocking secret for everyone. Once opon a time, in a galaxy far, far away, I was like goodwink. I bought a GSD bitch with dreams of doing schutzhund and breeding. I was a nineteen year old, easily sold, gullible dipstick and I bought a GSD bitch from a breeder who assured me she would be wonderful for schutzhund and breeding, proudly displaying her pedigree, in which her great great granddaddy came all the way from Germany and had a schutzhund title! Wowie!!
I was not as forgiving as goodwink. My goal was schutzhund come hell or high water. So we took this undersized, terribly structured, unhealthy, completely neurotic bitch, spayed her, and gave her away to someone who thought she was sweet and didn't mind the fact that was deathly afraid when the wind blew. Then I got myself a dog from a breeder who was active in a local schutzhund club for years, titled his own dogs, and both my pup's parents were titled.
So I think that makes goodwink a better person than me. Good for you.
