Excellent teamwork..........

Keep us posted on the next titles, I have a feeling this dog is going to earn even more.

I expect he will, Kim, he's entered in utility and agility next week, but I probably won't be talking about it here anymore.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. They were much appreciated.

Hey Blitzen don't get bent out of shape - teasing you !    Clearly
your girl is very fit - which is a credit to you. [And to her previous owner.]

I was speaking  GENERALLY about the reports on less-fit  dogs;
which remarks, btw, are NOT exclusively made re: the too long, excessively
angled, deep chested specimens (i.e. the worst of BOTH  ASL and
British 'Alsation' Show dogs).  If exhibitors present weedy soft-muscled
dogs for shows or Surveys, how can they hope to do the AD ?

Really sorry if I offended you, I honestly wasn't trying to do that.
Linda.

I mean SL dogs and pet dogs are not usually know for being in great condition. ( sure you know somebody that conditions there dogs but the vast majority do not)...."

After handling a lot of dogs ( never counted, but must have been into the hundreds ) on shows and at training in Germany and elsewhere I had to realize that not the showlines but most of the workingline dogs lacked in condition and training.
Please notify: I´m not talking about drive and temperament, only condition and training.

Let´s say the dog is around 18, maybe 20 months old when it takes part in the AD trial. At that point the working line people train 3 or 4 times the week tracking, obedience, and bitework. The dog maybe achieved his BH at that point, not more.

The showline dog at this point already is SchH1 or 2 rated ( trained 4-5 times the week, otherwise not possible) AND gets showtraining twice a week, plus some slay training every other day, and a show almost every weekend.

More than 90% of the workingline dogs on a show become flat while moving, most of them only move because of drive and temperament, but not because of condition. I was very often mad because of the ignorance of the so called "workingline people", showing a dog in bad condition without training, and at the end of the show they complained about the rating.

Out of my experience almost all workingline dogs that loose some places during gaiting do loose their rating because they don´t have enough condition.
This doesn´t say anything about the quality of the dog but it´s annoying...

All I was saying was conditioning was the reason for Blizen's results as opposed to structure...it seems others agree including the OP who says she did 4  to 5 miles of walking/roadwork with the dog which supports my premise. If people can't handle general comments based in fact....well the problem is not mine. Sorry for being truthful.....whew!

Not truthful in my experience - sorry...but my experience is different than yours....

Well I thought we were talking in the context of endurance in the show ring, I don't see many workinglines in the show ring, so I guess I don't have the point of reference you have. Anyway, my comment was made in implication of SL structure accounting for the endurance superiority. If your experience is that is factual, then we can agree to different experiences. I recant my original premise, Okay?

I was just talking about condition and my experiences. A dog doesn´t need to attend a show to have some condition - we could talk about a lot of AD trials, too...
