Yes, thank you. I understand color genetics, and its more complicated than just picking a dog of the color I like.

I've seen 3 Falk son or grandsons work.  All stable nerved, powerful dogs that could have easily been trained in more than schutzhund. And all 3 had really nice "off switches".

Working clubs are a good place to start looking for a stud.  But as someone else mensioned, you may be best off waiting to get to know your female's strengths and weaknesses before choosing.

Here are some males and studs in the US.

Drago vom Patriot

Terror von der Staatsmacht

Lasso Bett Silver

Bac von der Siebengebirgsperle

To the OP, I would hold off on doing a frozen AI with your bitch until she is proven.
It's not cheap to do, and there hasn't been any sucess with the frozen semen out of
Champ as of yet, Al has used up more than one breeding of frozen with no results.

A friend had actually seen Champ in the flesh many years back when Al had him, quite an
impressive dog from what we were told. Had very strong presence, and a nice medium
sized dog, looked much larger than he actually was due to substance. There is more to
be told about him, but not the thread for it.

Working line, black and tan, Kkl1 low ZW - 76, HD & ED- a NORMAL. Proven stud dog and working dog competed in LGA with the highest protection score. Clear in the head and excellent working abilities in all three phases. Passes many traits to his offspring .

Great pedigree Asko vd Lutter son combined with Janko Vorwerkswald, Yoschy and Fado !!

Thank you workingdogz . I am sure everyone here on this board would agree about the pride one feels about his/her dog and reading your comment does just that. Of course, selfish pride aside, I looked at my female and wanted to find a stud dog with proven progeny stats, bloodlines, and qualities to compliment her. It is a bit of luck and co-ordination that got him to me. I hope he can make an impact here as he did in Europe to pass on his traits and those of both sides of his pedigree to his offspring.

op:

My advice would be to find a stud raised trialed and used by it,s owner. Any schmuck with a buck can buy a dog and advertise it as a stud on some one elses work but they would have no idea of the previous issues the dog has been worked thru to cover up it,s quality or it,s abality to pass on genetics. Good luck with your search and let us know what you decide.
