I still don't get the AKC pedigree.  If you import from anywhere and you have one, dogs ID's why do we have to create cash flow for the AKC.  SV papers, CKC, good grief, how many different pedigrees do you need.

That is one thing I never liked.  Paper work paperwork.  money here money there.

I hope this comes across clearly enough to read, if not you can go to http://wdanass.org/entries to the requirements more clearly.

Jacko,

Excellent point. I expressed the same to the show. Seems the board just wants it that way. I'm afraid it severely limits the number of entries. I'll use myself as an example. If I could enter a puppy, (I'll talk puppy since it where this rule affects the entries most) with an AKC registration it the entry fee 50 or 60 bucks. 50 to 60 bucks and I'm able to show a puppy in the class, support a handler, etc.

If I have to do the 4 generation pedigree that adds 32.00 to the entry plus a 20.00 registration fee. If the AKC requirements were lifted for puppies, I could enter twice the number of puppies in the show. I've entered 7. I have and would have preferred to enter 14. Now the AKC gets half of what the WDA would have made. Finances aside I'm guessing it's politically correct to involve the AKC so they did.

Anyway, I'm very excited about the show. The quality of dogs just gets better and better each year. As the economy gets tighter, I expect you will see more groups coming together to share resources. There's a huge opportunity now for anyone wanting to get involved.

If you have SV pink papers you don't need an AKC 4 generation pedigree. At least that's my understanding, because the 4 generations is already on the SV papers. Hence in order to mirror the SV they ask that all AKC only registered dogs get the 4 generation pedigree.
Isn't that how it is? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Hope to meet a bunch of you there! Introduce yourselves if you see us!! We only have 1 entry though as it is going to cost an arm + a leg to fly there w/dog airfare, handler airfare, hotel, car rental etc. Really almost as much as going to Germany for the BSZS!! Ulana will be in the 6-9 longcoat female class. Vogue will be back in next year's working class.

Debby you are correct about the pink papers.  I have an imported female with pink papers and even though I ordered an AKC 4 generation pedigree I've never had to use it.

Jacko and Dog1, I agree, so many hoops to jump through!  I almost took both my boys to the Canadian Sieger show but had other plans that weekend.  It would have been easier/cheaper for me to show there.  All they wanted was the AKC registration (no pedigrees, stamps, verifications, etc in addition) and $5 because I am a non-resident/not a member of their national club.  This was for dogs 12 months and older, just the one AKC registration paper.

I Have Ricco In the 9-12 mo. puppy class. He will then be in the Progeny group with his pop (Larus Vom Fiemereck) on sunday. This is my first Sieger show, Should be fun.
