Black n tan.    The bi is not to have the amount of tan on chest your pup has. Beautiful markings.
The bi is the hatdest color to produce, as u think they are till all that color spreads

Thank you everyone for your help and kind words.

I've had my new girl for three weeks and am having so much fun with her. I never I tended to get a puppy because my luck with pups and health hasn't been great (actually with dogs in general my luck has been bad) , but this girl stole my heart...and yes, I did my due diligence too :) .

I dont want to make a big deal out of what color she is, but I do want to know just for my own information. Thanks again!

So, is the chart Sita posted inaccurate, or again, am I missing something? The fade Bi-color on the chart has lots of tan. So confusing, at least for me.

Wow, That just made it harder, The Pup has a black heel, but it looks like it is not a true tar heel, or it is growing out!
Maybe the pup will be a blanket instead... here are some blanket dogs...The last GSD in this post has a black heel, But some say it is not a true tar heel, plus the under chest is light tan/white. I love seeing what everyone thinks on these type threads.

The only way to know for sure is to do a genetic test .

At 4 months the color on back legs is most likely to change into the lighter color, but who knows.

Your puppy is strikingly beautiful!

How can a genetic test see the color of the pup?
if u. Know bi parents n gene basis, it still is no guarantee a pup is colored right until  seen by a judge ? I am not knowledgeable about dna but do know breeders pf bi dogs who are

same as dm, coat length and others.
they have found markers in the genetics that represent color

Well, I guess I will give It awhile and wait until she is about a year. I'll post new photos and we can re-visit this subject:)

I also want to mention, although she has penciling, it is very light and subtle. In the three weeks I've had her I've not seen any changes in her coat, other than losing her puppy fuz down her back and growing in regular fur.

Thank you again so much for your help and input.
