bad vets depend on bad owners to survive. With the amount of information on-line, it is difficult for me to understand people not doing even a small amount of due diligence.

by SitasMom on 16 August 2013 - 12:08

bad vets depend on well intentioned ignorant pet owners.

yes they contacted me about the spay, i suggest that they do not spay until the pup was at least 18 to 24 months, but they didn't want to put up with the mess during heat.

beautiful pup that could have had a good show career. lots of drive for training and super confident too.

Happens all the time - owners  usually opt to take the advice of the vet over the breeder's. Another reminder of why I hated breeding dogs.

Ditto Blitzen same reason I don't either;  once the puppies lea_e your arms you ha_e absolutely NO recourse and can no longer protect them.  E_en if you put stipulations in your contract, well you can just light a match to that.  That is about all the control you don't ha_e.  Sorry my keyboard is sh_ _ .  Bought a new one and am taking it back today, was a piece of junk also.

Sorry Sitasmom, happens to the best of them.  All the more reason to tighten up your contract and if not followed to a health "T" your health guarantees are no longer in effect.  Need to protect these puppies somehow.  Better days ahead Sitasmom, enjoy what you kept out of the litter;  if you did not keep anything, next time you will know to keep you best back for yourself.  I also learned that the hard way.  Nan

dogshome9 I had similar maddening experiences several times and that is why my warranty is written the way it is. It protect the dog first. Education of the new owner before they take the pup/dog home, is also very important. It is important to talk to your clients before they take the pup/dog home. I also have AlpineK9 Manual in my "store" on my website, which everybody reads before they go home and there I deal with this one and all and other issues.

I give puppy owners articles, talk to them, explain everything, then the vet brain washes them....

True Sitasmom;  all you can do is your best but I really would like to emphasize the importance of your contract.  Close up all the loopholes so no one can wonder into the wrong hands.  I can take a look at your contract if you want me to.  I can look at it from a buyers standpoint as well as past experiences that did and did not work.  Just a thought.  BOL  Nan

This is so sad. Horrible! I can only imagine how frustrated and upset you must be, Sita. They don't want to put up with the mess of a heat cycle? Grrrr...

Dogshome, I seem to remember when that happened to one of your pups. She was an older pup if I remember right and you had recently placed her. I was appalled that someone would do what those people did, so impulsively and without contacting you. It was heartbreaking.  :-(

Yeah, why didn't they buy a male?  JHC.  Unspeakable...Nan

Hips look very good for a young dog. Vet needs to lose his or her license. Vet needs to be reported.
