Jacko how can you even compare this excuse for a performance test to the world championships?  And yes I have entered dogs in these shows and travelled to NASS.  If my new dog can't do any better than the dogs in those videos I'd be embarrassed to show him.  You can hold me to that.  The "select few" seem to have lower standards and weaker performances each year...  Maybe the "select few" is a big part of this problem...

my point was that dogs that have been at the top are not always on the top.    It doesn't matter what they are doing.  How does a top schutzhund dog in a country travel and get at least a score of 70?  It happens.

There are many issues and one is the lack of folks who compete.  It is a money game and there is not doubt about it.  Just travel across the country to show a dog, not cheap.

I am not supporting the bite work,  just something to think about.

schaefer, I think that you notice the same dog as Gustav. I have not looked him up, but it is the third dog, I think # 502.

Just goes to show that for everyone who wishes to say what is not possible, there is someone out there proving what is possible.

Rik

well it would require Show people to want more than just bare minimum. I noticed that dog also. Actually I was impressed as I see mostly those lazy, slow, huge weak dogs. It was a very nice, refreshing site. I wish the #502 well and I hope she will continue to do as well as she showed in this video.

I am glad that there are dogs from show lines that can do pretty well...

Most of these dogs would not have received a 70 even at a club level trial.  I guess I'm not seeing the point?

hello pack, these people who present these dogs are not so dense that they do not know what they have.

Hell, I present them too.

What is sad is that we cannot discuss these issues as adults, with the goal of insuring that more correct dogs are presented.

I am a show person. There is nothing that a Sasquatch from Texas or a hoosier from Indiana can say to change this I care less what they consider a "shitter". It does not matter in my little part of the world.

I can, however, be shamed by an adult, in what I present.

I have been very kind and considerate in my comments this year and I will continue.
I will only say that last year on this forum I said that as long as the genetic pool of dogs aren't changed (Black and Red Canto/Quanto derivatives), the results at the protection show won't improve, if not get worse. I said that same statement TWO years ago on this board also. People accused me of being a basher, while others have been trying to say that top breeders are using dogs with stronger temperament and things will get better.
Welllll.....like I said, if the dogs with the stronger temperament are first cousins of these same dogs for past 10 years and possess the same genes, then next year will be a repeat of last year and the year before, etc. Well this year is here, the tapes are in, and I am not disappointed in the results. Of course some will blame me for the performance of these dog in general, because my speaking the truth year in and year out supported by the videos actually caused these dogs to look this way. So, I will not say anything negative about the videos and only say that unless there is new dogs with bloodlines different from the Black and Red Canto/Quanto mix....Next year will be the same again for the fourth straight year! Time will tell just like it did this year...Cheers!!

Gustav, only foolish people with their own goals in mind will blame you.

I come from many years of seeking gait. From an organization that only values gait. When I realized I was wrong, I traveled to Germany to find what is right. What did I find "gait"

This single minded pursuit will not end any differently than it has ended here in the U.S. Maybe the dogs have better h/e and better color, but the dog will end up the same on the inside.

The few who do what is correct, will not in the end overcome the many who do not care what is correct.

If more attention is not placed on character, then other countries will soon see what many see here in the U.S.

We are excited to have bred our top female to the VA4 Odin Vom Mittelwest. He was absolutely amazing. Got a performance award, top American bred dog award. Way to go Odin!  We are excited to see the top quality German shepherd puppies you will produce with Tai.
