Once upon a time, there was a nursing forum that was unmoderated. A certain group of posters tried to take over, and were derailing threads and insulting newbies and anyone who did not belong to their select little group.

The owner of the forum took action, and recruited moderators. I was one of them. He also formulated a Terms of Service agreement, and everyone who joined had to read it and agree to follow it.

Well, to say the brown stuff hit the fan is putting it mildly. There were tears, nasty words, shouting, looong loooong threads about how unfair it all was. The mods took the brunt of it. There were times when we just hunkered down in the trenches, licking our wounds while waiting for the storm to pass.

Pass it did, eventually. The ringleader of the clique was eventually banned after calling one of the admins some unprintible things. She flounced off, and started her own site, taking all her cronies with her.

Her site eventually folded. The site of the original owner is now by far the largest nursing site on the web. It has thousands of members and draws hundreds of visitors every day.

End of parable....  :D

I called no one out. I answered why certain authors are not here. My answer was the truth and to the point. You jumped in with your boring SSDD line. I disagree. It happens.

I see no threads here about your forum, but I know PDB is a part of your site. I have a copy of your rant about how this site and Oli are copying off you, hate to break it to you but Oli has had this site since 2001. The copying is not being done by this site. Bottom line, Oli has never heard of your site.

No one here is saying you can't be members of other forums. The problem was you used this site to advertise your site at a time PDB was undergoing massive change, with a couple of overzealous moderators. We want all members even if they have 10 forums, but we will not allow advertising. We do not come to your site and leave our links.

Oli probably told you to chill because he was not ready to add more mods, but you felt slighted in some way and that is to bad as you most certainly would have been asked.

Lets talk about multiple user names signed up here to create havoc and at the same time your mods are posting links to your site. What about those incidents?

You think by throwing user names out we are going to cringe and we will not, as you actually have no clue who the mods are. I will say this, the information not only comes from our mods it also comes from your mods. :)

I am done with this. I answered with facts, you answered with emotion.

I think this place is definitely better and appreciate the improvements.  I think the mods need to stay above the fray as hard as that might be.  I realize the mods are former members and some take being a mod very seriously and personally.  The mods need to stay impartial and forget their former bias and put aside their feelings when performing their mod role.  There is no need to call out members that have left or belong to other forums.  I didn't sign an exclusive contract with Oli or anyone else.  I spend some of my free time here and some of it on other forums.  I come here for some pedigree research and go elsewhere to discuss working dogs.  I'm not going to be made to feel guilty for that, I'm not dating the PDB.  This is a great resource for novices who hopefully get accurate information to their questions.

We try to stay above the fray, but understand when questions are asked and we feel we have input we will comment.

I belong to other forums. I am a mod on a chat and another forum. We welcome you to be members elsewhere, variety is the spice of life. We just do not need start ups here advertising while the site is going through all the changes it went through.

Honestly, VM I have never been to your site. Never. I do not have a user name.

I told you, you have mods who are playing both sides. Just like I am sure we have mods playing both sides.

More than one person started forums at the time of the overzealous moderators. I really was not singling anyone person out, but I see you think it was solely directed at you and that is really sad.

I will ask you again, what about those multiple user names and your mods here posting links at the same time the multiple is stirring trouble?

Huh? I have no idea what that means. WHAT multiple user names? And if one of my mods is stirring trouble, I want to KNOW NOW. 

What other GSD forum started in the last 8 months? I'd like to join another.

Well many of the mods on here have multiple user names as well.     I don't think it was against the TOS at that time or was it?  If you started calling out PDB members and mods that have never had multiple user names there would be very few.  It is really no secret who the mods are to the older members and their former / current user names.   

IMO, I do not think a mod should participate in personal feuds with members.  Stay above the fray, be the bigger person.

ConspiracyTheory has no posts because the mods deleted them all. I am also sure the others suffered post loss due to mod actions.

I have 2 names here and GSD is one and the other I cannot divulge. I really can't tell you my screen name as I would be breaking an agreement I have with Oli about the things I know about PDB and it's members. Ask the mod who you get info from and they will tell you we all have to sign one. If I tell I can be banned, ask past mods. Also, FYI all your talk about who the mods are will end up in the can as it is against the TOS, but I figured you needed to get all these things you think you know off your chest. Sad I think you might have blown a mods cover.

I can say if you believe I am Sock then that is up to you and whoever wants to believe it can. For the most part I believe and many members believe PDB is moving in the right direction.

I hope you do not leave and I want no one to leave, but I am a realist and know with change comes attrition.
