We remove front dew claws on all of our puppies after talking to K9 handlers, trainers and seeing first hand what the dog would have to endure should one get caught. It's a much easier process at 24-48 hours old then when the dog is 15 months, 24 months etc...
Some may disagree with this practice, but we are not raising show dogs. We are raising police K9s, both GSD and Malinois.

Thanks guys for this information my GSD didn't have hers removed either so she has 5 fingers like me LOLOLOL...Maybe thats why she can hug and shake very well
...So I am not going to have them removed 
...So we are at day 59 
2nd day of Rectal yesterday temp was 100.3 and this afternoon i got a reading of 100.0 
so I will do another by dinner time..She still has some energy she helped me pick weeds today and clean the pool...She has a little mucous coming out of her private so the plug is slowly coming out..She is laying in her whelping area but less eating today...Okay everyone keep you posted on the big day..

Well she is du by tomorrow did a rectal today she is at 99.7 and the puppies have moved lower now before they were in her rib cage and now they are down by her lower tits..She has not eaten in the last 8 hours so I am going to Add her favorite foods to see if that my get her going..She is doing alot more laying around then yesterday...So I have prepared items for the puppies...Brought in heaters, heating pads, baskets, gloves you know if for some reason something goes wrong..She is just laying her head on my lap so I think she feels its time..I will definately post pictures when they arrive..

Okay at 4:15pm first puppy came had to leave the house daughter had Tball game and I am the Coach Great
..Home at 7pm and now its 7:26PM so far 3 puppies all looking good aggressive little squirts 4 more to go..Mom is looking good..She doesn't want to leave for a break so she is ok...

A trip around the pool, pee time and Okay some Cottage Cheese and Eggs and 5 minutes later out came another..She is doing a good job..2 more to go..
