Programme So Far
This is what we have planned so far - it might be added to so if you have any suggestions let us know.
1. Registration
2. Measurement and 3 Ts (Teeth, Tattoo (or micro-chip) and Testicles)
Because of the numbers of dogs involved, measurement and 3 T’s is often done in a great rush at shows – there will be time to do this at a more leisurely pace so that your dog learns what is expected.
3. Show Training
o Puppies up to 9 months old
o Youngsters 10 months to 18 months
o Over 18 months
There will be two trainers at all times – one doing individual training and one training groups on the move.
4. Off Lead Gaiting
This type of training starts ON LEAD! So it is open to all ages – bring your dog’s favourite toy.
5. Protection / Courage Training
Dogs will need to have some training already in protection work – for those who are interested finding out how to start this type of training – the trainers will be available on a one to one basis earlier in the day.
Running throughout the day
• Breed survey
Surveyor – Hugh De Zutter – Langfaulds GSDs
• Focus Training
A great start to any type of working discipline – this is aimed at young dogs which have not yet been worked but all are welcome to join in.
• Aptitude / potential assessment of young dogs for protection work. (prior to protection / courage training)
If you would like to know what protection work involves and give your young dog a “try out” – this is a play activity carried out by an experienced trainer not in any way designed to intimidate / upset.
• Micro-chipping
• Tattooing.
