My dogs are all straight out of Fero and Yoschy and they are GREAT with babies (don't know why since I never had any or liked them much myself). Have posted photos in the past of them kissing kids. One of my girls is 50% killer Czech dog and she is the same way. It's like RLHAR says, clear heads. They don't even bother my hens.

My germelhaus female is 3, and has always been safe with our housecats.  She sees them as pack members, period.  She can be bossy with them but is not predatory towards them.  Her breeder has dog social cats that the pups are raised with.  My girl is very obedient and works around farm stock and is active in herding, and socializes off leash with small breed dogs all the time.  She has never used her teeth inappropriately on another domestic animal, although she WILL chase off stray cats and squirrels from the yard.  She is territorial for sure.  And while she loves retrieving, tug, fetch and ball games, I would not characterize her prey drive as extreme, and it doesn't override her obedience, assuming you are planning on good solid obedience training?!

Please do your research on the lines and most importantly the abilities of the individual dog being purchased or being considered.  Also take the advice of the person you are purchasing a dog from (do your research on him or her also).  That last tidbit could save you time and a lot of money.  Some people want high drives and some do not and basic protection and performance work from a dog is sufficient for that buyer's needs.   I think it funny that a person can say on this site that she thinks a seller's dogs are this way or that way "I seriously think most of his dogs are too over the top for a novice."  Direct quote from above in this thread about my dogs.  To make such a statement is inconsiderate of the training, the abilities of the dogs, the years of training the dogs have received from various traininers, and my staff.
When that person has not ever seen the hundreds and hundreds of dogs that I have sold over the years and our very satisfied novice owners!
Yes some  dogs we sell are extreme...if a person wants it, then we will train it.  Those are mostly police service dogs.  Otherwise our dogs are balanced with clear heads and very good repusentatives of the canine community.  A good well trained and balanced dog is what everyone wants and we strive to provide.
If anyone has a question as to working lines (which ones) and wants to have an honest conversation about dogs, please look me up or contact me.

What isa  working dog? Prey driven monsters who will climb the walls in your house?! What kind of a work is that? That is not work. That is nuisance!
Working dog is a dog which can perform any kind of work in front of it. Like being a excellent family dog who will love and protect and keep company to his/her family. There is no more important work than that. Historically, when the herding dog came home from herding sheep he was a family dog and protector and companion.
Who would think otherwise!!!???
Thus get a good working dog!

Sorry Bill didn't mean to step on your toes there.  You're right I don't know all the dogs you have imported, trained and sold.  I was just going by what I have seen.
