Blitzen I'm sorry if you feel I derailed your thred, and yes of course
its always nice to see any GSD in a film, esp. where they are
portrayed as real dogs not killing machines. My teasing comment
about his tail was said with a big smily face next to it, I would not
begin to 'critique' any dog based on just that film still; and I'm not so
unfair that I would 'fault judge' on only one 'below par' point about
a dog anyway, or had you not realised that by what I have posted,
after all these months ?
Having said that, however, i should point out that the tail IS
supposed to be carried properly by a good and correct specimen of
the breed, whether it is being judged in an ASL/AKC ring or on the
SV/FCI Standard - not curled or at a level above the back, even if it is
only occasionally.

I assume he never carried his tail that way in the ring, Hundmutter. I hesitated about posting the entire thread because he's not my dog, but thought it would be interesting for others to know about the film.

I agree with Blitzen that it's wonderful to see GSDs portrayed as the wonderful dogs they are. I recall that, many years ago, I was MOST reluctant to get a GSD when my husband insisted that we do so . . and I was largely influenced by media that portrayed these dogs as vicious, snarling menaces. Thank goodness my husband prevailed . . I could never imagine life without a German Shepherd Dog . . actually I would probably not be alive today without the loving, upbeat happy boy that saved my life when our house caught fire just one year ago. Love Gator's expression . . he looks kind but alert and vigilant!
