Beautiful dog, and wow, they do look like littermates.

There is a nifty likeness, aside from the sloped topline that I presume would account for greater differences in mobility and structural longevity. My preference would be for Bernd.
If "backmassing" on a single dog had as much effect as some would like to think, nearly every workingline dog today would look just like Bernd. Almost too bad they don't.
But, 7% is a genetic chunk of influence about the size of any one of the sixteen great-great-grandparents. Not a lot, and leaves room for a LOT else in the final result.

Point taken, darylehrel. But sometimes the genetic dice gives you a dog that's a throwback. I've seen it happen, and I'm sure most breeders who've been in the game long enough have seen it too.
Thank you for doing the math. That must have taken quite a bit of time. And wow, despite the 7% figure, that's still an awful lot of Bernd back there!
Despite the similarities in colour, and the shape of the head and ears, you can see the modern influences in Mailo, with the very slight upward curve to the spine and the longer upper thigh. And of course, his temperament may be nothing at all like Bernd's. He must have a good work ethic, though, in order to have his Sch3, and a KKl 1 rating.

A minute or two of my time, and I didn't mind. And any "throwback" characteristics are just as likely to have come before Bernd, and in the 93% without his help.
