Joanro, she is a purebred gsd. People sometimes ask us if she is part coyote. Her eyes are what catches most people's attention--looks like she is wearing eyeliner. : )

I saw that you had her DNA'd. I was sort of joking, because I really don't believe that DNA is 100% accurate when ID ing lineage. So, Not doubting you. If you saw her next to a hybrid, you'd be hard pressed to tell them apart.

Here is a dog I consider "reverse mask."
He does not look like the ones previously posted though.
The dogs I have noticed that have this, come from Ben z Bolfu or Ingo Rudingen.

same dog as above: ( I have called "reverse-mask")
What I consider "racoon eyes"
Probably genetically the same I guess.... just differing in amount of black. The first dog just has black "lipliner" and darker areas up the muzzle and around the nose. Where the second dog just has the red/tan around the eyes, but mostly a black muzzle.
I have never seen one I knew to be pure bred that is totally lacking a mask, and also has such light highlights as the dogs posted originally.
Interesting.
