Kalibeck

by Kalibeck on 05 March 2012 - 16:03

Oh Jyl, I'm so sorry for your loss....Aiko is still a very handsome boy, watching over you from the Bridge. I'm sure your arms ache to hold him once more, as mine still ache for Kali. Sucks being left behind. I hope they are playing & doing all those things we said "No!" about, chewing holes in water hoses, tearing up the garbage & throwing it everywhere, tearing little holes in down comforters & shaking all the feathers loose, gnawing on the leg of the best chair up there......Kali was too polite to do those things while she was here, I hope she & Aiko get to have a lot of fun now that they're there!

Most sincere condolences, RIP Aiko.

I'm so sorry. It was too soon to lose him--although, really, it's never long enough.

So sorry Jyl, what a beautiful boy, and they leave us with such a void, but those years would have been so much less without them.

I just love the photo of him holding his Dad's leash, that is just gorgeous. I am sure that he will be waiting, and that he will be keeping a watchful eye on you in the meantime - as I am sure they all do until we are reunited with them.

I'm so sorry Jyl.... Aiko was a beautiful boy - I love that dark face. Thank you for sharing pictures with us. Rest in Peace, Aiko.

Jyl,
I'm sorry for your loss.  Remember the good times and all the fun you two had.  How old was he?  A dog's only fault is that they don't live long enough.  I'm sure you gave him a great life, he was lucky to have you.

Thank you everyone for the kind words. It has only been 24 hours since I lost Aiko.. I periodically turn around to see if he is sitting on his dog bed...thinking that this is all a very bad dream.
I know he is running happy and pain free now. He was such a great dog.

Jim,
Aiko was only 8.5 years old.. WAY to young in my book..

Starrchar,
Aiko was my dog that had DM. He started showing symptoms in March of last year and was diagnosed around Sept 2011. Will send you a PM later..

I think the one taking it the hardest right now is Velcro, the cat. He WORSHIPPED Aiko. Poor Velcro is walking around the house looking and looking for Aiko. Aiko would always lay right by the couch on his blanket. Velcro has taken up residence there and will NOT let any of the cats or my moms dog(GSD) near that area. He will beat the crap out of the dog and chase the cats away. He has looked under the rug that is there and all around the area. He just sits and waits and call Aiko. This is the saddest part..I am trying to tell him his dearest friend isnt coming back..
