Regarding food we're currently feeding him Blue Buffalo large breed puppy moistened with a bit of warm water to soften it up. He seems to like it better than just plain dry.

Our vet said that aside from the roundworm, which is being treated, he looks healthy. He wasnt extremely playful the first couple days, but i chalked that up to the affects of the de-wormer. We took him to the vet the day we got him, since the "breeder" hadnt given them shots yet.

Today he has just been a playful little clumsy ball of energy.

Awesome looking pup, but definetly not 8 weeks in pic. Looks 5-6 to me. I don't give much credit to opinoin's of vet's. As long as he continue's to eat and grow at a steady pace, you'll be fine. Congrats to you guys and your pup. Best of luck to you and Take Care     Pete

Oh, very cute little puppy!

My male was a little guy too and I worried about dwarfism. I looked up lots of info and pictures about the condition. I was worse then a new mother...lol...Anyway, all that worry for nothing because he grew right into himself....; )  Your pup does not have the structure characteristics of a dwarf in my opinion ( based on my research I am not an expert ... try google search).  He is small, but that could be due to being younger than you thought.

   Enjoy!!!!

I think your suspicions are correct, he looks younger than 8 weeks to me.

*Be-careful not to over vaccinate him either*...vets are notorious for this.
Cute puppy....I do not think that he is over 6 wks old....but only the breeder knows for sure.
Best wishes!

Should I be worried that we've already given him one set?

Your little man is very handsome.

He looks like he is about 5 weeks old.....or either he was the runt of the litter.

He doesn't look like he has Dwarfism or Hydrocephalus  (which is the dome shaped head)

Poor darling angel to be taken so young from mama! Your pup is definately not 8 weeks and I see no signs of dwarfism either. I would give him some puppy formula, raw eggs and his softened dry food.
If you are in an area where there are laws for letting pups go too soon, I would at least let the appropriate animal authorities know that this person could be doing this. They WILL do it again if they get away with it.
At least he has a good home now. He is a doll.

Often they are weaned from their moms by 6 weeks anyway, however, I don't see why the breeder would lie about the age unless there is a law where you are from.
I've gotten pups young before and they did great, hopefully that is the only reason he is so small.  cute cute cute!
