If you import a bitch in whelp you will only have to DNA the bitch in whelp and get a stud certificate from the owner signed and stamped by the overseas kennel club.  My bitch was imported and bred here.  I had to send them the bill of lading and of course DNA her.  Any dog imported and used for breeding will have to have a DNA profile from AKC.

hank, i personelly think it is about the kennel. i know sometimes it takes more than a couple months. the same agency that did youre has done mine too.
the  no respose routine is not very good for buisness. they haven't been any help at all once they shipped the bitch to me. i'll never buy another one from them if  it had a gold a_ _ hole.

sable , paperwork dont have to take that long , with some dogs I bought in czech we drove to the kennelclub in praag , had the papers stamped , and had them back in 10 minutes

now the kennel you are talking about does live pretty close to praag  , so no excuse there

I wouldn't breed a dog I didn't have papers for if I was worried about it.

I imported a bitch, had her bred overseas before shipping, and jumped through a lot of hoops through AKC. They like to rack up fees for you to pay, so they handle things in the least efficient way possible. You have to apply for the bitch's number first, THEN, when you get that back, weeks to months later, you have to apply for her DNA profile, which takes another 6-8 weeks, and then you are allowed to send in the request for registration of the litter, along w/a stud certificate.

I know sable's bitch was bred here,  but her papers could still easily take a couple months, which means the buyers will have to wait even longer. My import litter was quite old before they had their papers; luckily, my buyers trusted me because I didn't have a single complaint. I can't remember how old they were, but I didn't even get Capri's papers until November, and she had those pups in June.

It's definitely a pain in the butt.

it is that jen and more. when i purchased her the kennel rep told me definetly" we will have everthing to you long before she is bred". exact words and now they won't even answer the e-mails.
duke knows the kennel without me saying anything.

Well, I have my guess as to who it is. Communication is everything; that's probably why my buyers weren't upset when they took forever, but it sounds like my situation was more complicated- you only imported your bitch, not in whelp, so you should have them much faster.

Best of luck.

I wish you good luck.  I only deal with a couple of people over there that I personally know so I know I will get my papers.
