Look at it as an "expense" to be amortized.  You said $350.00 the first year and $200.00 on subsequent years?  If it is the one with two days a week, and you make full use of them, at $350.00/yr. then you have 104 training sessions with  the benefit of helpers, trainers and fellow members to share ideas with... at a whopping cost of $3.37 per session.  Toss in the treats or raw meat for enticing the pup during OB and laying out your track for early training, and it is still less than your average trip to the multiplex.  Per week it is still less than a dinner at a half-decent sit-down restaurant.

Our club (in the Kansas City Area) is about $200.00/Yr and there are two weekday sessions (Tue/Thu) and two weekend sessions Sat PM/ Sun AM with tracking on Sunday AM.  We have two excellent trainers and helpers as well as a couple of members training to become helpers.  While the majority are GSD's we also have Mali's Rotties and Dutchies.  Our dogs title in our trials as well as in those of other clubs, so IMPO, it is money well spent if comparing it to hiring a private trainer.

Choose the one where you will be most at ease.
