Mine stay outside in a one acre fenced in yard with toys.  They get plenty of exercise running and playing with each other during the day.

by jmopaso on 15 April 2011 - 02:04

Four of them get the run of about 8 acres in invisible fence on the farm. Four others, my male and 3 intact females stay in kennels when I am not home. I have (2) 10x10x6 (2) 10x5x6 covered outdoor runs and (2) 12x12x8 indoor dog rooms, as well as (3) 6x6x6 covered outdoor runs.
They stay somewhere in those, depending mostly on the weather. I do put King Kong Blues filled with something in with them, recreational bones, sometimes a horse toy called a Jolly Ball.

The four "loose" dogs also come in and out of the house as I do, they sleep in the house, mostly on the leather furniture....  I do have to rotate the other 4 around for "house" time as the females will fight with each other and my male does not get along well with the 2 neutered males. They were fine until the male bred his first female, then it all changed. 2 of the females get along with each other as well as the 4 loose dogs, so one night they get to come to the house, but the 2 females  do sleep in crates. The next night the male and the "mean girl" female come to the house, they also sleep in crates. I put the 4 "loose" dogs, 2 spayed females and 2 neutered males behind a baby gate in the foyer while the 2 get their house time. They don't try to fight or even grumble at each other over the baby gate. They all also live with a 13 lb Rat Terrier, whom they don't really even acknowledge, unless they want her ball. They are all very respectful of her. They also live with 4 indoor cats and are very respectful of them also, even the male.

or hes running at the job sight.

i dont like leavin my dog outside. heard of soo many poeple provoking dogs then calling animal control.
so to avoid any problems with anyone. i just bring him to work. he loves it. and the bond is bulletproof :)

My girlie hangs out in the house along with my aussie..My male aussie is crated..I've told those girls everytime I leave it would be nice if they cleaned the house while I'm gone, but they just disregard me and I come home to find them watching Animal Planet, lounging on the couch :))

Our dogs stay in the outside kennel while we are at work.  The kennel is 15x30 with a high dog eared panel fence.  It is attatched to our barn and my husband made a sleeping quarters for them inside the barn.  We live in the country on 20 acres with only a few neighbors within eye distance.
When we get home from work they are either inside with us or outside with us.  They want to be wherever we are.  We have about an acre fenced in for them attatched to the house and garage.  They sleep in the house and have full roam of it through the night and if we leave for a few hours they are in the house too, with full roam.  They never get into anything.  They are such good dogs.

My female and male are loose in the house, they both can open the side door (both ways) so they have the freedom of the 6 ft. privacy fenced in backyard.  Nothing or no one else gets in our out.  Lots of couch time and yard patrol.  I just have a lot of house cleaning from the dirt they drag in.  LOL

I have 1 showline, 1 workingline, & 2 sl/wl crosses.....they are at home with my retired hubby now while I work....what a Godsend! When we both worked, he worked days & I worked evenings, to shorten the time they spent alone. My showline could be loose in the house, but the others were too rammy. I think now that everyone's older & more mellow, (& know the rules better! LOL!) it would be OK, but thank goodness it's not needed for now. We're still looking for more land, tho'. They can't run 5 feet here without dodging a tree! jackie harris
