What the KC choose to register is up to them i for one do not go by anything the KC do or say i go by the standard set in place by the SV,WUSV and not by the KC , any one who breeds for non standard colours does so only for money not to improve the breed, i include Blue's white's liver's brindle's and purple with pink spots as non standard colours yes they do crop up in standard colour litters but they should be sold as pets (at pet price) with endorsed papers and not bred for
I do not understand this statement..... the other was x rayed and due to a problem with paperwork this could not be submitted for scoring but is believed to be well below breed average........ how can it be well below breed average if it was not scored i think we could all say this what a load of codswallop.

But this is also true of very many who breed 'standard' colours, is it not?

As for not being an accredited breeder , some of us think that its a load of rubbish anyway , i can name quite a few people that hold acc breeder status that are yet to even breed a litter, now how ridiculous is that!!!

As for the liver bitch with a below average score ,apparently the paperwork in question was something to do with an import ped or something with a minor mistake on it that was returned by the kc. The bitch was xrayed by a very well known person who has a very good reputation and she advised that the hips woud came back as below breed average , the x rays have been seen by other breeders . Apparenty the decison to breed this bitch was based on the advice from vet .She has been back for another xray since which has been submitted for scoring very recently , she mentioned this on a forum. The other lady who has a bitch that has no score but knows they are high is doing it purely for the money , she has another male import too who hasn't been scored either.

 Just one example,
Look at the " line breeding " in this one .

I find it a pity that the liver dogs oftimes have so much linebreeding. It's clear the breeders are focusing on color over everything else. I find it a shame. Liver is one of my favorite colors; and I think it looks great on any dog.

Here's another liver with intesive linebreeding:

 Crumbs !
These two livers were mated together earlier this year to produce a litter of livers here in the UK.

And these breeders wonder why other more ethical breeders condem them for their practices.so here we have pups produced from 2 generations of half siblings.ALL FOR COLOUR.And their followers on other threads have been stating that they know what they are doing??????Carole Spelman.

This is what I have written on another thread recently when someone asked me why am I against blue and liver.
I just copy it here:
Blue and liver are delusion gene. In simple terms it means that colors in animals are based on:eumelanin (black) and pheomelanin (red or yellow) pigmentation. These are controlled by gene Melanocortin 1 Receptor (MC1R) or we call it extension gene then there are Agouti and Dilute. These genes cause the diminishing of eumelanin and pheomelanin. This often shows by none black color of the nose and pink gums, lighted colored toe nails, lighter (yellow) eyes and so on. In another words loss of pigmentation. Standard calls it washed out colors.
Loss of pigmentation is a major problem in bloodlines and it is an initial indicator of degeneration of the line which if not heeded will progress to other problems .
Thus yes the colors like liver and blue may be cute but are extremely detrimental to the breed of GSD.
That is why the standard considers them a problem and breeders must not breed them. I would place such pups to pet home.As you say live and let live. But do not breed! And most definitely do not linebreed!!! They can have normal life. In Czech they are disqualified from breeding for that reason. If bred then you are on downhill slope!

uber land said:the color alone does not cause health problems, so I can't see why you would say they don't care about health. accepting a color has nothing to do about the health of the individual dogs

Also it is major  mistake to say that color will not change temperament. Genes usually do not change just one characteristic but they change 2 or more! Here is A GOOD example.  Color often goes with temperament. For example pure white animals ( animals with white skin and not just hair) have more neurological problems. (Deafness,....) Melanin ( dark pigment ) is also found in midbrain of animals. It is thus beleived that melanin has a protective function in the brain. For example Dalmatians and other white dogs are often deaf and so on. Some white horses or blue eyed horses are totally crazy. Now this is an extreme expression of the lack of pigmentation but there are others  less pronounced problems ,.....but still they are problems. Remember dark is good, lite is bad. Mouth of the GSD should be black and black spots on tong are desirable, as are dark eyes, black toe nails, deep colors of fur. As I have said above blue and liver are dilution genes and as such they are diminishing pigmentation and that is a first sign of degeneration.
DO NOT BREED OR BUY FOR BREEDING BLUE AND LIVER!!!!!!!!!!!!THERE ARE ENOUGH PROBLEMS IN THE BREED ALREADY!!!!
