GSDtravels

by GSDtravels on 03 May 2010 - 21:05

We have a lot of people here who also work with Mals because they like them.   What your original post implied, was that we should switch breeds because Mals have different (intent meaning better) things to offer.  Well, we patently disagree.  We like what the GSD has to offer and that is OUR choice.  Each breed has its differences and we don't think our breed needs "fixed".  If you like the Malinois, you get a Malinois, if you like a GSD, you get a GSD.  "That breed of dog is their favorite.".   Okay, that's their choice.  The GSD is our favorite.  So, what's your point?

The GSD is a true thinking dog and can work in *so* many disciplines from helping the blind to participating in schutzhund to being a police dog.  I personally think GSD's are more adaptable to their surroundings and they're just so darn smart!

Better looks, more intelligence, better personalities, more powerful, more versatile, better family dogs and there is just something majestic about the breed to me. Of course all of these things are just my opinion.

As the saying goes..."If he's not a GSD, he's just a dog!"  Why not try one & see? I can't think of having any other breed, my dogs are so incredibly smart! My dogs perform on so many levels..not just for sport, but with family, neighbors, at my work (I am a Hospice practical nurse), with kids...I could go on & on. They always seem to know just what to do, even if they are not receiving direction. How can you go wrong with that? Yes, there are issues, but that is true with everything in life. You take the good with the bad, when you love someone; same goes for our breed. jackie harris
