Rachel you said "Hi i am woondering if i may qualify.to advertise my litter
my female is hip scored and as low bva score but my vet
only does hips so when puppies go to new home's she will go
to an other vet to have elbow done.sire is hip and elbow scored
and Haemophilia tested A clear.please can you advice me.
thank you Rachel"
The vet a mile from your house does Both Hip & Elbows albeit under GA rather than sedation, and they are one of the cheapest vets in the area, as they dont mark their drugs up like some of the other Oldham vets.

Hi Wildmoor.thank for your reply. i my have not made it clear my vet
says he does not think it is viable for him to make it(ie financial)
so at the moment he only does hips with the bva fee included.so that
is why many top breeders use him.can you tell me the vets in our area
which you know his cheap for both hips and elbows.as we will be takeing
1 large male and female correct size.but with money being scarce.
you have got to look after it.
thanks Rachel

Jennings on Manchester St (cheapest in Oldham) do both obviously slightly dearer than Mark Lingard in Out Rawcliffe as Jennings do it under GA, and Moy Farm M Lingard in Out Rawcliffe do it under Sedation. Gourley's in Ashton also do both under GA
If you are having 2 done then it is deffinately worth the trip up to here www.moyfarmvets.co.uk/ I have travelled just with 1 dog and saved after petrol costs £60 if you go by the M66 its approx 55miles, does your Dad drive? they do xrays for BVA x3 a week
Where do you go at present?
Pam

I would deffinately recommend Moy Farm, He is good at prediction was only 1 point out on the hips and correct for elbows, he predominately does working gundogs thats how I found out about him years ago, theres a local garden centre nearby you can have a walk around whilst you wait as it doesnt take long., and a nice pub near the river for lunch enroute back to the motorway.

Know what? This thread has given such a lot of good information. so enlightening. I am even thinking I might go to Moy Farm, save money, have a day out, and see the garden centre all in one, and have a vet that, by the sound of things, know what he is doing at a reasonable price. What a joy
My current vet that I have had all mine done with is very keen on the Penn Hip system. Thats all very well, and I can totally understand that, but its not recognised in the UK - so how can we go to that. Meanwhile, he has taken to encouraging clients (some of which I have sent there ) not to submit their dogs Xrays because the score will not be good and there is a degree of arthritis showing up. I have then gone on to ask them to get back to him and have them submitted, as this is the only way we will have a true picture of progeny good or bad, and these are the scores that have come back so far from the ones he asked not to be submitted.
12 total and fairly even - 16 total and very even - 21 total and very even 32 total and uneven.
So - I am losing a bit of faith, and looking for a more keen person to get everything scored no matter what. anyways, waiting for your site with interet Angie, and well done for the work so far in getting us all finding a place where we can advertise well bred, health screened puppies only - wait til that hits the general public, you should be inundated with hits !! Does it need any funding Angie?

Hi Tigermous, having just read all of this post (only read part then had to stop), I agree with it all, what a great plan, I would support this kind of website and I think paying a small fee to use it would be a real boost too.
We need people like you who are prepared to go that extra mile to get things on the right course.
What about anybody who registers with your website paying a small fee to put the info on it, that would cover costs for you and your good work.
I did PM you about Stud Dogs before I read it all, so apologies for being behind everyone else on this, but a Stud Dog List is a great idea and it can be updated as it goes along with any further qualifications any dogs get in the future.
Looking forward to it being up and running.
All the best
Aileen
